It is funny, how budget was NEVER an issue, when Flaco was doing his thing, there is a new kid in the block, and the budget comes up, funny isnt it?

Again, not hate'n on ML, just letting everyone know that this type of speed cost.
To build only:
Flaco's R-100 = $28K
Flaco's FD = $40k
Flaco's Rx8's = $ 140k
To run the last few full seasons:
per season budget = $250k <spent $300k per season> engines, equipment, travel, team, crew, truck, insurance, etc... no real money left for much serious testing or R&D

Again, it shouldn't be a problem that I mention that ML is a very well funded vehicle effort... who cares, it doesn't take anything away from ML. Again I wasn't hate'n on ML... just saying it's a well funded and budgeted vehicle effort... and we should all appreciate the fact there are still guys out there willing to spend the $$ to keep Rotary Power in the spot light.
I'll tell you Abel was offered big $$ to go drive for a top piston team last year, but he refused, because he's a Mazda Rotary guy... I personally thought it was a stupid move on his part, but then this is what being a hard-core Rotary guy is all about!

Again OH YES IT WAS and continues to be... before it's all anyone ever talked about... "if I had a million bucks like Abel" if we had mega sponsors like Flaco", "if I/he had his money", "if this.. and that..." Just search the older post in this forum, and the other forums out there, even the PR forums, and you'll see that this is true. Everyone would say that if so-&-so had the same bucks they would be running fast, faster, fastest, etc... so how can you say that this $$$ deal was never an issue before... I speculate that most people who have followed the scene for a few years, will know that this true.

Yea, that would be cool...look forward to hearing from him. Please have him e-mail me or call me... all the info is included in the PM to you... and thanks for your help and assistance KNONFS, it's been nice discussing this issue with you. Like I said in the other string, I think we've both made our valid points (at least I have) and I'll leave it to the educated readers of this forum to make up there minds on the rest of the issues. We can discuss our points-of-views and opinions 'til forever, and not get a consensus. I just hope folks support Rotary Power every where and anytime... at any racing venue and any class and type of racing!
Peace out and much Rotary love!

6.794/209.95 (rounded to 210 by the above gentleman)
The 6.76 was run at a prior run to this...
