I'm interested in your cooling setup. I see that you don't have the stock water neck, or water pump. What maintains coolant pressure? Do you have another pump somewhere else? Can you take some more detailed pictures of that?

mate, your car is..........perfection. it's truly a credit to you. I hope to build a car like this one day just read this whole thread, and watched the vids on youtube. Sounds insane. you've built a really awesome machine so far. Any pics or progress report on whats stopping the beast. I saw the struts a couple pages ago with the 5 stud conversion, but anything else?

also, I didnt catch weather you said this was going to be a street or not.

good luck with it mate

Hey guys a few people asked me about the water pump system so i thought i would put some pics up that show it a bit better and for the fun of it i put the car on the corner scales and got some very pleasing results. First result is that the car weighs under a ton although i still have to put a tailshaft in it, but not much more than that and the weight distribution is really close to 50-50 you can see the exact weights on the picture, so for all those asking why i put the engine so far back this is why to get very similar weight distribution to an FD3S and an RX8.

Stu i reckon i will have the car on the dyno not this week but probably next week Andrew and i finished the brakes on saturday folded up the shape for my TITANIUM air box it just so happens that i can weld it, its gonna look sick plus i got my tyres and a few gauges i have some photos so you can all see the progress it really isnt all that exciting just all the shitty little things to finish things off oh and i put in a kill switch for the battery and some sensor for my water temp and the probe for the electric water pump controller. All going well i will have the car out at MINI JAM on the 1st of march wont be racing just in the Show and shine.

Dave I just read every word of this thread, what a great build! I'm subscribing, can't wait to see the dyno results and video!

Could you speak a little about the injector setup and why you chose to do it the way you did, and what kind of firing you will set them up for? And are you firing the leading and trailing plugs at the same time, or split?

Sorry for my newbish questions!

Also, who made your intake manifold, it is a work of art!

Regards
Charlie

Hey sorry been a bit slack with updates but like i said last time sometimes the things i am doing really isnt very exciting, but i will tell you that the wheels have been sent away to get widened and narrowed for the front my front Mickey thompson front runner tyres should come tomorrow, the clutch is bleed, the brakes are bleed and the airbox is almost finished so the car may see the dyno the end of this week or early next week, i have some photos of the airbox pretty happy how it has turned out.

cheers dave
