the motor search continues...

ok, i had my doubts about that other 20b in my "found my motor" thread, plus the guy was a little weird. but i've found another one.
it was shipped from new zealand, the current owner purchased it from a guy named glenn, refered by jim tanner (evidentaly jim and glenn are friends) of racing beat. so its verified from the guy at RB with ~35k miles.
the only things that are missing is the auto tranny, and the coil packs. not a big deal. but the coolest thing about the motor.....# C265!! no extra dowels needed
its not as clean looking as the other one, but thats probably a good sign. he says there's oil in it, to keep the parts fresh, but doesn't get turned, so i'm a little worried about pitting. but its been sealed in the box also, not been sitting outside. do i need to worry about it, or am i just paranoid?
as before, if you guys could help me out i'd appreciate it.
here's the pics:

thanks for your help guys!!

I'd be worried why there isn't a leading spark plug for the middle rotor?

sheesh, thanks for letting me know sean....you're not my best friend anymore....

and yeah, i was wondering what the deal was with the spark plug, my guess is, that they pulled it to put in some atf or oil or something. at least thats what i'm hoping.

My 20B had the wrong plug in the middle leading hole. Maybe they lost the original during a compression test?

cant remember where i found this one, most i've found want $3500. haven't purchased yet though. i'm kinda being picky, but i'm not sure i'm allowed that luxury when it comes to these. a kid i know who's family is pretty well-off, has 3 sitting in his dads garage, still waiting to hear back from him too. crazy...
fi addict is the man, they're not hard to find if you go through that list. good luck with your search

Hey,
If anyone is still looking for a 20B in good shape, I know of a place in Illinois. The web site is www.soko.com. Contact number is 800 338-7656. I just bought one of two from there. Cost is $2800 + shipping (150-250). Ask for Ronald.

Good Luck,
Aaron

I'm receiving the 20B today. Fortunately or unfortunately, the company has sent 2 and billed me for 2. I have the option to return one, but can probably do better selling outright myself. If anyone is interested, email me at aaronlaurie@comcast.net

I'll try to get pictures out this weekend on the 20B. Not trying to screw anyone on this. I am keeping the newer of the two, but there is not a significant difference other that the lack of alternator and waterpump and that the engine is first series run. I got the engine from Soko corportation out of Illinois. All that they have told me is that the engine is compression tested at the parent company in Calif (Soshin) and steam cleaned. So, I don't have exact compression numbers. I was less concerned about that as I'm using new housings and rotors and am using the engine for parts for the things I can't get new. I'm just north of Minneapolis/St. Paul. I'll get the pictures out this weekend.
