The horsepower rating that they post and the horsepower rating that Acosta motorsports says it put out is also much different. Acosta is on the RX-8 forum all the time and much of his info is conflicting. It is still a nice install never the less.

Lots of conflicting info yes,
but remember this is the guy who half a dozen years ago had a 20B MX3 running low 7s making something like 1200 hp?!? Plus the 4-rotor drag truck they have now.
I have no clue what the real rwhp number on the rx-8 is, but it wouldn't suprise me if it is as high as I have heard.
Microtech can go over 8k as well.

y is everything to u guys b/s. If any one those something on this forum that no one has done. It most be b/s. the magazine article says 950hp ( flywheel) that's y in the article it says 850. also about running the motor to 11000 rpm. we have been doing that for more than 5 years. when we were racing our pro mx-3 the car back then was launching on the 2-step at 11,000 rpm. That's why you balance the motor for. Also, just because the Microtech goes up to 9000 rpm it doesn't mean the motor wont. It just mean that you can only tune up too 9000 rpm. (one more thing) stock internals ont he motor, again YES i use stock mazda apex seals 2mm.
