We don't know yet since he hasn't taken it on the dyno yet. Everything on the car has been custom fabricated. The porting is also his own design. However, he doesn't want to estimate numbers and wants to get a dyno sheet since he's never done these ports before. Just look at those intake runners lol. The car weighs ~2,400 pounds with driver.

What do you mean by side drafts?

He means the carb would be laid horizantal instead of pointing up vertical. (sorry for the crappy spelling)

Intake wrapping over the engine? I believe he was trying to get the best airflow and atomization possible. He admits he's never done anything like this and calls it pure redneck style lol. I keep asking him when he's gonna dyno it but all I get back is soon ^_^

I was at his shop admiring the engine and the car on the lift as I waited for my oil change. Those guys really know their stuff.

I'm still not sure what side drafts look like, do you have a picture? If I remember correctly when he was deciding how to make his intake, there was an issue of it hitting the reinforcement bars. So instead of cutting the bars, he decided to do this.

kids these days... don't even know what a sidedraft carb looks like.

i'm not sure there is sufficient room to really fit a sidedraft in the 3rd gen engine bay unless you place them over the engine and curve the runners 180 degrees into the intake ports.

I didn't even know how a carb or distributor worked until my Dave showed me lol. Gotta love the simplicity of it. Reliable ftw.

I asked him about sidedrafts and he said sidedrafts aren't recommended and it wouldn't fit either. Yes, its a race car so it doesn't matter . Good news, tomorrow he's gonna finally dyno it after finishing something off, I'm gonna go ^_^.

That car is awesome! Ontario rotaries FTW. Carb's are almost a forgotten relic, in my automotive courses in College they didn't even cover Carburetors, only naming off a few parts.

Looks like he is using two 48 or 51 Weber IDA's and on the front one he turned the carb at an angle as he only needs to use the one throttle bore/body and he just blocked off the other one. Very creative and it sounds really good. Most 20b carb setups I have seen use the three body IDA style carb that was used on older porsches. But they are pretty hard to find so this was a good idea.

From what I understood it wouldn't fit and the fuel wouldn't have a lot of room to mix with the air.

Yes, they are Weber carbs but I'm not sure on the size.
