Just need a power estimate

full bridge 20b. Ethanol, BW S472 75mm 1.10a/r
Any ideas where the turbo will start falling on its face? 1000+hp setup?
Not on my car, but somebody I know is packing this under the hood of an FD. Hes thinking 1200hp, Im guessing hes about 200hp high.
Somebody set this straight. haha

75mm compressor is rated at 110 lb/min. If he would manage to produce 8.5 HP from every pound of air, then at most its 935 HP@crank... 1.1 A/R turbine housing also indicates smaller turbine wheel - no no for high overlap 20B... he should reconsider his goals or choosen parts... And since he´s "thinking", I doubt it will survive first dyno

His first agenda is to look for a great engine builder and most importantly a amazing tuner. Not alot of tuners can get that amount of power. how much boost he is planing to run?

Im not sure about the exact details of the car. This was a heated debate over the phone yesterday. Sounds like his 1200hp dreams just got raped. Then again. The turbos that I personally know he has (Im sure there are others too) are a garrett 47r, a handful of BW 3 series (375, 366, whatever the hell they're all called), a couple other 4 series ones, a T88-34D with 25,000 some odd miles into it, then a big box of random OEM turbos. So Im sure he can figure something out. I think the 47R is bigger then that BWs472, maybe with that? Doubtful... If it was my car, Id just put ze electric turbo and ze nawzzz in and yeah. He wants to hit 1100-1200whp on a 20b. I dunno what to tell him. Lots of fuel and a big fuggin turbine! Not to mention a tuning god to get it all done right.

Hope he has alot of $$$$$$$ because running those number take alot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$. It can be done but he needs to determine his goal, street, race, track only ect. i know Gaby personally and he was the one that tuned my car he can get it done but with numbers like that you are probably have to run alcohol to be on the safe side. If you are serious about making it happend feel free to PM me. The video above is not gaby that is siguel racing from puerto rico.

I'm honestly not trying to be a jerk here... but Sean & Howard have given a lot of attention to helping us roughly calc the power estimates paired with a turbo.

Here is really a lot of info that goes into this but, let us do it for you:
110lbs\min is roughly 1600 CFM and since the rotary roughly make 1hp er 1.7 - 1.9 CFM ..well you can take it from there.

Howard's thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/auxiliary-injection-173/feeding-turbo-rotary-horsepower-airflow-fuel-injector-sizing-w-2014-turbos-888852/

Sean's thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/spec-tuning-154/how-size-matters-478915/

Now plug their calcs into a spread sheet!
