Dyno

I got my car tuned by Steve Kan last night. I hit 403rwhp and 316.6 torque at 8 PSI. I was having trouble with my boost control so i could turn up the boost. My engine is stock with a GT42 turbo.

Finally someone with dyno info on a Gt42. Nice numbers for a stock block engine. What are your turbos specs? At what rpm do you start to build boost?

Edit: Any pics of the engine bay?

My manual boost control wouldn't let me go over 8psi. It worked on the street just before it went on the dyno. It's time to get a profec boost control

Wow, that power curve is amazing. It's plots like that that make me more interested in a 20B....

Good luck on the future tuning and post updates.

Good power curve, I'm hoping to make that kind of power out of my stock motor, but I have a Garrett T76 with a 1.15a/r. What rpm did you make full boost?

I didn't even get to use my aeromotive a1000 pump i installed a day before. I was just running on a walbro 255 intake pump. Steve said he didn't need to put on the switch for my a1000, but i guess if we got the boost to work he would have turned on the pump.

What size injectors? Pump gas? Wastegate size/type?

Very good work. You can't argue with 400rwhp @ 8 PSI.

How do you like the E11v2?

I added your car to my dyno page of over 100 RX-7 Dynos:

http://www.catenet.net/dyno.php

Very nice! Please make sure to post again when you get any results at higher boost levels!

Thanks for the dyno!

All the work on the car was done at can-saf.com , My dad owns the shop. My gauge is out a bit and needs to be re calibrated. I will post the rpm later in the week when I fix my gauge.

20B-3Rotor,

Any plans for the shop to duplicate the manifold?

What intercooler are you using? Any overheating issues?

Sorry for all the questions, but 20B stuff is so hush-hush, no one ever posts any "hard facts"

Take care,

we have talked before 20b-3rotor.... I have the same turbo as you. Well it has been sitting around for a couple months now. This is great news...300ft/lbs @4600 @8psi i didnt expect the GT42 to resond so well at such a low boost. Take any other pulls at an even lower boost? Great job Steve Kan I think i will be in need of your services

Oh and Im glad i got my profec already ..hehehe

Im looking forward to more updates THANKS!!!

I was talking to my dad today and he said he would duplicate the manifold. I forgot how much he said i will ask him tomorrow.

The intercooler was made by a turbo shop up here

On a very hot day the temp does go up a bit. I am going to put some hood vents for the hot air to go out that should help it

Glad everything worked out for you with the tuning. Make sure to add some type of damper for your map sensor since I was seeing as much as 3psi difference in certain cases, You don't want the engine to detonate and ended up hurting it. Also, you might want to re-route your wastegate line to the compressor housing since it was causing some oscillatioin as well. I'll send you a pic of the intake filter tomorrow.

Steve

Here is a quick clip on the dyno. I think he pushed it to 6500rpm here. There was one time he pushed it to 8000rpm or a little above and the car was screaming. I have it on the rest of the videos but I will try and get them up this weekend.

I just saw your dyno sheet why go 3 Rotor to make such little power. My 13b puts out 425rwhp at 14psi. Why do all the work for such low #'s.

The dyno sheet was at 8psi. I'm sure if i run 14psi i will be over 425hp. I had boost control problems thats why i didn't turn it up to 15psi
