Arrow Dropped my 20B in the other day

We dropped my 20B in Monday night... finally. I'm pretty pleased with how it went in.. the K2RD mounts really saved us some fabrication time and headache. Here are a couple of shots of the engine installed:

I'm still waiting on my GTC front bumper from Rotary Extreme. I was going to go with the Eastbear headlight kit, but I think the plan now is to use E6KT2's headlight kit... pictures of both of those parts will follow when I get them

I dont know why you have an FD

It is a bit more involved than just motor mounts... but yes, to actually get it installed, all you need a flywheel and motor mounts.

i'm running the stock twins that have been converted to nonsequential. Marvelspeed did the work on the turbos. The wastegate has been ported, the 2nd wastegate has been removed, the flapper door is gone and a bit of milling and welding done to the assembly... Should run strong.

Next year, I'm going with a single GT40/42 turbo and a Geforce H-gate tranny.

Ok Im just so jealous. So that will bolt right up to your tranny too? You dont have to more your firewall or steering column or anything?! Single turbo 20b will be money!

what are you doing about cooling? what about an IC? Looks like your getting pretty tight on space for your TB as well. I'm looking forward to see how this thing turns out! Nice job so far!

Yes, it bolts right in. No moving of firewall. No issues with the steering rack... and yes, its MONEY

For cooling, I have a Fluidyne radiator and I'm running a Meziere electric water pump that flows 55 gpm at 12v. I custom made oil cooler lines and moved the oil cooler up front a bit too.

The UIM and TB will fit, but you have to gut the underside of the hood... the odd placed pulges under the hood of the T2 are perfectly placed... I had a some custom TB adapter intake elbows made so I could ditch the cast aluminum hunk of junk.

I have an intercooler from Hybrid out of Australia... its 31" wide and about 12" tall and 2.5" thick. I'm in the process of making the pipes for it now.

It's the little things people forget about - like the knock sensor.

.
easy as 1,2,3

.
If you don't let the silcon hoses crimp by accident, there a great addition:

.
.
This is the stuff that you need to R&D - like the fuel rails.

.
beautiful - and they cool the oil as well.

.
very nice BOV

my battery goes here:

Awesome pics. I love the black engine bay. =]

if it were me, id wait on installing the J&S. Those things cause alot of problems. I know of people that have blow a few motors up. They are too senstive and yank timing for no reason. And sometime will yank too much timing and the trailing fires before the leading (very bad things happen).

HEY! That's were all of my pictures went, Vaughnc had them!!!

Yeah, that is my car before I painted the engine bay.... that pic of the throttle body also shows the custom TB adapter that I had made.

CYMFC3S:
I'm not sure if I'm going to put the J&S in or not... I just got a good deal on it. I've heard the stories about them, but I dunno... we'll see. Its safe to say that it will not be installed initially.

BTW, motor was built by Don Marvel of Marvelspeed in Rowlett TX, just outside of Dallas. Don did the motor, Zyounker and I are doing everything else, and E6KT2 just moved to town, so he'll be lending us a hand as well.

If anyone would like any info on Don, feel free to email me at kurgan@darkcloud.org . Don's email address is marvelspeed@hotmail.com . He is a MASTER of the rotary engine.

Hey,

Looks absolutely beautiful man I am stoked to see it run...

Hey, I thought an E6k could only run a two rotor engine, because it cant handle the split timing issue for the 3 rotors? According to a few things I have read (Ted, Hitman, etc), only more expensive systems such as a Motec can run a 3 rotor.

Just curious

The E6K will run the 3rotor, just without split timing. In other words, firing the leading and trailing plugs on each rotor at the same time. We are making a standalone box out of a PIC chip and a small map sensor to retard the timing on the trailing side of the motor based on RPM, Load and Boost. But for now, its just going to run with no split timing.
