contracting (in 2004) the ultimate rotary going into an FC - help me design it

Well, uh, I think I figured out how to build a 4-rotor with only "not too godawfully complicated" machining operations... and I *know* I figured out how to setup a dry sump...
I *so* need to scrape the parts together to start making testbed motors...

And with respect to that, I'm almost torn. I've got my name on the 2 1/2 year list for a 360 Coupe at Cauley Ferrari, and if it came down to it I'd actually rather put $165k out for a 360 than $60k out for a built FC or even FD.
But the project will happen, it's just a matter of time. I've got in touch with a guy who makes silver core intercoolers (silver is a better conductor of heat than even aluminum) and he's going to be building the intercooler and piping.
I still need to find out if anyone makes forged housings, rotors, E-shafts, etc.. and if there's an option to add extra bearings somewhere in the 20B to prevent the E-shaft from flexing under high boost.
On the other hand, you probably all heard about the guy on here offering 3-rotor conversions for around $30,000 and guaranteeing 600+hp on pump fuel on low boost, and 800+ on race gas, and completely street drivable. I might even just go with that seeing as I wouldn't have to do any of the work myself.
Right now I'm looking at a bunch of projects:
Paying off the mortgage we got last April
Banking money to cut a check for the 360.
Getting a 4-door 5-series BMW for a business car.
Picking up an FC race car for ITS to get some track experience.
Picking up a new car for the wife.
So as you can see, the 3-rotor project isn't top on my list. But like I said, it'll still happen, whether it be fully custom or if it's a $30,000 drop-in advertised on here.

this guys gotta be just talking. . .if money is really no issue. . .
http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....tnumber=engine
just have racing beat do everything for you. . .they invented peripheral porting which MazdaSpeed then used to win the LeMans.
if money was REALLY know object, why would you go on a forum instead of just paying someone like peter farrell or some other widely known expert to design and build you a true supercar.
as fun as it is to pretend. money is always an object

Interested to see if you are taking delivery of the Ferrari this year or are you still building your 20b project?

PS: I really hope the Ferrari dealership had the morality to refuse any payment from somebody who only makes $40-90K/year.

i hate people that talk the talk but when i comes down to it they don't deliver. an 60K in a FD will blow that pants off of any 360 modena but whatever i guess go ahead and make your 1500 a month payment

Um, more like a $2,700/month payment on a new base model Modena coupe, assuming you could still get one. The insurance isn't a walk in the park either.

Any progress??
The story is, right now my business is only bringing in just short of a grand a month. Within the next 6 months I'll be bringing in a few grand, and 2 or 3 years down the road, 50 or 60 grand a month is what I'm looking at. That's why money won't be an issue. I know it sounds like a bunch of bull, but if you really need to, treat it like a "theoretical" buildup with unlimited money. Or imagine I make $60,000 a year and rotor housings cost $1.25

Now, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it to a 20B, because.. well... because..
I need your guyses help to tell me what sort of things I should be looking into. Mild street port, big street port, bridge port, peripheral port (yeah!!!), whatever. What type of apex seals (3-piece, 2-piece, 1-piece (do they make these?), carbon, steel, ceramic, etc.. any aftermarket forged internals that might exist, what turbo to slap onto it, what fuel system, what computer, I mean.. we're building a whole car here.

ya... I think not... and if you think buying and paying for insurance on a Ferrari is bad, try paying for maintenance... I work for a dealer and trust me, that aint a walk in the park either...

Sure it is. If the park is Central Park in NY and its full of the usual rapists and murders.
