The first thing I thought after inspecting it for flaws and not finding any was, it's all down hill from here! :/ They actually want to polish it one last time, but decided to wait until I get the car together so they have an opportunity to fix anything I damage.

The car is going to be transported to the interior shop late next week. I finally decided on a carpet. I ordered a very soft German synthetic with an extremely high thread count. It's $105-120 per yard, but it looks very upscale, feels noticeably softer than the normal stuff (which runs about $60 per yard) and should be pretty durable. Because the car isn't very big I only needed 4 yards of material, so the price difference between the good stuff and the normal stuff isn't that much.

I am using a red leather binding with red stitching on all of the visible seams. The most obvious being where the transmission tunnel and door sills meet the floor. The binding is being custom made to match the stock red interior color. I also ordered 50 sqft of B-quiet Extreme to lay under the carpet. I'm doing this mainly because the aftermarket carpet does not have a rubber backing like the stock stuff. Ultimately I want the total weight to be within 10lbs of the stock carpet.

It's so nice to have such a flawless car as that one, but I don't envy you one bit. I'd be shitting bricks at the slightest little scratches.

Chris,

If you haven't yet ordered the B Quiet stuff, might also want to check this stuff out from Second Skin. I just used it on the back half of my car and it made a nice improvement. In the "testing"/review on this link http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/ it compared very favorably at a better price point.

Here is the direct link to Second Skin http://www.secondskinaudio.com/ Customer Service was awesome btw.

The stuff sticks better than Dynamat Extreme and doesn't smell at all.

I also strategically placed some DEI adhesive backed heat shields in the tranny tunnel recently. Feels less toasty in the driver's seat.

Cheers

A

Thanks. Good advice. The sad thing is I read that site before ordering (which is excellent) and went with B-quiet because I was OD'd on information at that point, happened to have the B-quiet site open, and was too tired from hand sanding the intake manifold for several hours to pull up another site . The funny thing is I put the intake manifold on the motor today and realized the turbo manifold and downpipe hide just about all the work I've done.

just wondering, but how much does the new transmission tunnel cut into the pedal box space? Also, props on an awesome car!

Zero. It's all under the dash above the height of the accel pedal. The HVAC stuff still bolts up, but there is less free space behind and below it.

Those are some good links, I'm always interested in good feedback on sound deadening products.

The supplies for my MOP lines finally arrived. Replacing them was fairly easy. I am going to add rubber sleeves to protect them from abrasion before I put everything back together. I'm pretty happy I chose to replace them myself instead of paying $150+ for larger, heavier brake line with stainless casing.

The carpet also arrived today, binding is due in on Friday, and the sound deadening should be here tomorrow. If things keep going at this rate re-assembly will start in two weekends. Hopefully the spirit of ecstasy will be with me (not sure what that means, but I'm happy I can now utilize this photo):

I had all the standard fittings on my water pump housing replaced with male -AN fittings. I also welded up the AST nipple on the filler neck. The housing was bead blasted, and I'm really impressed by how clean it is. Should I polish it or leave it alone??

Was the front bumper left unbolted or did they tighten it after the picture?
