care to see my mind ramble

thanks for giving me a stroke!!!!
damn i hate when people post numbers

are you good at math?
a 20b ported made 625 rwhp at 14lbs maxing out the T72 turbo
the flow rate on the turbo is 80lbs/min call it 82lbs/min (im sure it wasnt a normal t72)
so ..say a normal 20b w/ the t72 makes 600rwhp (about 30hp due to porting)
the point of this is.. what will the t76 make?
t72 flow 82lbs/min
t76 91lbs/min
T72 made 600hp(approx ..stock 20b)
T76 will make?

82 lbs/min 91 lbs/min
600rwhp x

8.2 91
60 x
(cross multiply)
8.2X = 5460
X = 665.85

is that right?? sounds right? the t76 should hit 666rwhp at 14psi??
T76 = 1200.oo
I have been aiming for a flow rate of 95-105lbs/min
i spoke w/ mike from majestic turbo in texas about this turbo and the gt42 (the gt42 = 800bucks)
flow rate on the GT42 102mm,53trim ,.60 a/r seems to be 96lbs/min
gt42 @96lbs/mins .....702.3rwhp!!!

comments..... please!
yes i know this is not concrete.....
but its a topic to chat about w/ other 20b builders.

....

Not to burst your bubble, but I don't know..

1) My 628.8 RWHP was at 6175 RPM, about 1k RPM short of what it normally would go too. How much more HP was missed?

2) I would think the porting does quite a lot more than 30 rwhp. We did special tricks here and there, but you get the point. Look at a factory 20b block, with stock twins. Yes, the twins are small; but how much power did it make? You think going from the factory twins to a T72 made that much of a difference? Yes, there was some tuning involved, but still?

i have a t76 .....ill give you numbers as soon as i can
the problem with the gt42(r) is the physical size , the way i see it , darn thing wont fit in my engine bay (unless i do something radical)

a ported 20B /w a t72 @14 PSI wouldn't be too efficient.

25-30 PSI it would be but thats too much boost for a 20B

T76 even less, but more peak HP

The GT42R is expensive but I plan to go with this turbo just because it has the "GT" technology. It also spools faster then the T72 or T76. overall its a better turbo but the $1950 It take to get ahold of one is high.

red-rx7- the turbo wasnt maxed at 14psi? That was what i was getting from your other post. and porting you did made some solid 50hp in reality but it doesnt round off well sorry. 600 plus is just a dyno tuned number and im never going to run this on the road... i think. So the bubble bursting isnt too bad. Sam - As for the T72 hitting a max at 25-30psi..isnt that true on a 2rotor due to exhaust flow?

Well, with my current setup....

13/14 psi made 628.8 rwhp @ 6200 rpms.

25 PSI made about 40rwhp-60rwhp more. Same AFR, same timing. How can you say my turbo isn't out of its effiency range at 25 psi only making that minimal more power?
