we need an IQ test before allowing people to post in this sub-forum.

They're saying that the 4 rotor is so rare, so hard to build, and so hard to fab up custom stuff for that if you've just heard about the motor you shouldn't be considering the swap.

Just FYI the E-shaft alone is $9500, than everything else, plus someone who knows how to put it in the car which might be 20 people world wide.

You're looking at $60,000 plus. Start doing research.

As for horsepower levels, if we can get 1200 horses out of a 13B I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 rotors breaking 2000 horses at some point.

My whole reasoning was due to the LACK OF usage on that 'search' feature.
Comes free with the forum membership, dunno why people overlook it.

I saw and heard one when i was at Formula D Long Beach, Look up Mad Mike or Red Bull Rx7 and you will see it. its PP 4 rotor N/A and making some where around 475 -500 hp. And you need to learn to use google in general its not that hard to find.

Well in his defense, the search function on 7club and 8club is a piece of ****.

not sure if i'd go THAT far. it's certainly lacking at times and there are times when it's down, but for the most part it's usually just a matter of time before you get results. the real problem is many times people simply don't want to invest the time. there are nights i've burned up 2 to 3 hours just searching for something that i may need and i doubt if most people dedicate even 25% of that time to searching before they post. the only think that can stop you is if you happen to be so unlucky that the information you seek is not mainstream - or even somewhat mainstream in terms of details. there are some topics that simply don't get covered in detail.

however, that's certainly not the case with the 26B (or 4 rotor). information on 26Bs or "the" 26B (the actual 787B's engine) is scarce, but general information can be found. there are easily 2 to 3 threads of "somewhat" active builds going right now on the front page of the Rotary Car Performance section. at the very least, they should provide the answers to his 2 main questions of:
intense, can you drop a 4 rotor in a FD? how much would one cost
okay ... so one of them is an Rx-8, but my point is yes, it can be done. cost is not discussed because this is actually one of those things where if you have to ask ... (and i absoultely hate that expression, but it applies this time, sorry). then there's the matter of searching the general internet (Google or even YouTube).

the simple fact that there's no 26B section on the board should also be giant clue towards the time, money and effort involved as well. so it can be argued whether or not the "IQ"-comment was out of line, but it was definitely NOT out of place. just my take ...

Can we all please let the thread that is NOT about the 20B, yet is in the clearly marked 20B sub-forum, die?

We really need a judicious, vigilant mod in this sub-form with a penchant for recognizing technical merit to keep this sub-forum clean and worth looking at.

Before i posted this thread i searched up and down throughout both RX7 Club and google "4 rotor motor" and found very little information. Mostly just information on the 1992 lemans car. But what i was interested in was as to whether or not a swap could be made into an FD and how much it would cost. Thankyou for answering those questions guys.

Now with that being said, your right HWND should of never said anything.
