20BEAST FD build.

Must remember that block mod when I get around to it!
Regarding the alternator. I am running fd powersteering bracket and alternator bracket. This mounts to the waterpump body and has a support bolt through the powersteering bracket too. Not sure if any other brackets mount differently? Not sure if the one bolt on the waterpump body is enough?
Changing subject. I presume you converted your own rack to manual. Everyone seems to cut the seal ring off the rack shaft with a grinder. To me the ring must be pressed or popped on? That would imply you could possibly pop it back off? Would I be right? Do you remember what's under the ring? A split ring by any chance?
Cheers

As far as the ring yes its way easier to cut it off than press it out. Band saw makes it a breeze.

Cool, thanks for the confirmation. I assume when you say band saw it off you run the saw along the rack shaft as a guide? And kind of take each side of the ring off then split it?

Hi there, I have a question about my rack posted in the steering section. If you could have a look and let me know that would be great.
Sorry to jack your thread!

With the short LIM did you run the 6 injectors off of that or are you still using the primary/secondary 3/3?
I'm planning on running 6x1000ccs, but am going to run the standard 3/3 and not 6/3 or 6/0 (secondary/primary).
If I overlooked a pic or update please shoot a pic of it :p.

Update,
Finished the PPF (power plant frame).
Made the mounts the for the intercooler and radiator. Put the brakes on. Ran the 1/2 inch fuel line for the most part.
I have tons more to do and fabrication to do but it will get done. My goal is to do 1 thing everyday for the most part.
One reason I build my own v mount setups is the fitment is 100%. Your not going to get any better then this setup.

Vacume and fuel lines are all SS hardline
Alternator and turbo blanket is on its way.
Im in love with the linder performance intercooler couplers!
I still need to fab sway bar mounts, brake lines and complete the exhaust system.

I haven't checked in on this thread in a while. I'll tell ya! You did a much better job on your ppf shortening modification than I did. When the engine is moved back and centered within the engine bay, it's amazing how much room you loose on the turbo side. Project looks very nice indeed.

Thanks for the kind words guys!
2nd gen builds? Both our cars are 3rd gen rx7s or was I missing something?
Anyhow I have been trading info back and forth with davids car and I will for sure be making a inconel shield for the motor mount as well.
As for power im going to just run at 10psi (500whp) untill i build another 20b block then I will crank it up on race gas.

Here is the most recent.
Coils on plug setup is mounted, I will get pics of that asap.
All thats left is wiring the aem infinity, make 2 brake lines, bolts in the driveshaft and thats it.
I was not able to make pineapple racings idler pully work with my v mount setup so I came up with another idea thats one of a kind. I had chip ursu make me a custom alternator bolt so I could use the pineapple pulley in a much better spot. I decided to do this instead of knurling the water pump pulley because I wanted the belt to have more of a contact.

Its the 2nd generation of 20b conversion builds... The 2nd wave of 20b conversions. I suppose it could be the third, if you go back to the pioneering days when Farrell built Phil Hamlin's 20b conversion, which was the first of them built in 1998/99 I guess I'd include the 200X Pettit Banzai's among the few in the 1st gen builds. Sooo, one of the better 3rd gen builds of a 3rd gen... ;-)

Now the 4 rotor conversion is the new cool thing to do.

Oh yes I hear you. 4 rotor is totally different. Several reasons why I sold my 4 rotor and stuck with the 3 rotor for now.
If one was to do a 4 rotor and want to keep the 50/50 and not hack the car all up they would need a full billet block
When and I mean when because I will do a 4 rotor it will be in a SLC (super light car) kit car where I will have more room. And id like to do a billet inc block like chip ursu is doing.
Im pretty content and wore out with working and spending money on the 20beest right now. As my rotary workload keeps increasing and overwelming me I just need to get the thing running and then step back for a bit.
