20B FD at its finest!!!! 700hp, less than 1200kg(2640lbs)
X3 concept based on Mazda RX-7
Reuben Zammit has created a number of stunning designs over the past 12 months but unlike most designers he has been fortunate enough to have some of his designs approved for production. His Bugatti Type 12-2 Streamliner concept, which we saw earlier today, is pure fantasy but his new X3 sports coupe concept is built around an old Mazda RX-7 FD chassis and could actually be produced today with a minimum of fuss.
The proposed engine for the concept is a three-rotor turbocharged rotary engine developing more than 700hp. The target of the project was to create a chassis that痴 more rigid than the stock version but keeps the car痴 total mass under 1,200kg. Some of the innovations include a new carbon-fiber roof, gullwing doors (these actually stiffen the chassis since they act as a roll cage), a tilted windscreen and new heat outlets positioned in the doors.
To keep costs down, Zammit痴 design leaves a number of features from the standard RX-7 unchanged. Parts that were left untouched include the windshield shape, wheelbase, vehicle track and running gear. Check out the gallery below to see a comparison between the new X3 concept and the original RX-7 sports coupe."

retarded.
its like a cartoon made from wishful thinking.
hmm, someone mashed together a viper, vette, ferrari and an R8 with some other supercar looks and drew it up, whooopdeedoo.
but hey more power to 'em, everyone should love a 20BFD, just for the fun of it, no matter what skin it wears.

Owen is right. Looks like they tried to throw together a combination of cars that are sucessful and came out with this thing.
It looks interesting, but i doubt the finished model will represent anything here. i can almost garuantee it wont have a 20b either.
eww, gulwing doors? BARF
whats up with the winsheild being so much higher than the side windows?
Ha, looks like mazda is taking styling ques from chevrolet(can anyone say z06ish?) They'll prolly throw a V8 in the production version. I would love to hear the bitching and moaning you guys start spouting out, if that were to happen.

if they built it in kit car form, like the factory five racing supercar that uses vette suspension, engine and brakes, with a porche tranny, somthing i can build the motor for and assemble myself and paint it whatever color i see fit id be interested in it. either way it deffinatly looks good in my opinion, little flashy but still nice

As stated before, the first concept looks pretty good, the last two look like concept dreams... If they ever made the last two, I don't think I'd spend the money on it... I'd just wait until some rich kid wrecked his and then ****** up the good stuff
