1976 RX-4 coupe 20B N/A

Well as some of you know, Dan and I have this thing for old vintage Mazda's. Not sure what it is, but they are awesome.

So heres Dans latest project:

He bought this 76 RX-4 coupe from Logan (GtoRX7) in Ohio a couple months ago, which was intended for someone else who backed out of the deal once it was landed in Canada. So Dan just kept it and decided to build it.

So the insanity began.

We had a 20B engine kickin around so we decided to put it to good use.

We re-worked the stock oil pan because the oil pickup actually cleared everything!

Clears the factory subframe by about 1/2 in

We took our Cosmo RE 13B/20B engine mounts we sell and re-worked them to fit the stock subframe in the RX-4

Heres where things get crazy lol.

We have the stock intakes for it....but what fun is that?

These are stock Hybusa throttle bodies stacked together to make an ITB setp for each port on the 20B.

For the engine itself we are using S5 N/A rotors....oh and the irons are half bridge ported too

Its been a while since our fabricator has had time to work on Dans intake, but its coming along very nicely.

Still need to connect the runners to the TB flange, then I'll smooth out the insides of each runner.

The porting will get cleaned up and done properly, then all the irons get lapped and we found a local source for re-nitriding! yay!

Everything is getting powder coated in house and the engine assembly will begin. Hope to find the time to have this on the road very soon.

We have no idea what power to expect with the half-bridge and the ITB's....

Looking forward to finding out though!

It's going to need slicks for sure!

The 74 RX-4 subframe is different from the 76, at least it is on the 74 wagon we have.

Yeah the "Merc" front end is a good description lol, and yes its staying. Basically we're cleaning up the rims and lowering it about 2 in. Everything else is going to be stock looking

Yeah it does look pretty neat without the bumper, we might modify it a little to hug in closer to the body instead of sticking 40ft out like they do stock.

What size are the GSXR ITB's you are using?
I have GSXR 600 and 750 ITB's that I have for a Megasquirt project on a 2 rotor 13b. I look foreward to seeing how you do the injector bung layout. Are you using velocity stacks or a special airbox with them built in?
Thanks for being a inspiration to us all!
