13psi, 540HP ATW
#26
There are about 100 differet varieties of the TA series turbos. For my core alone, I had the choice of 3 comp covers, 3 front blades, 3 exhaust housings and 3 exhaust blades....all different sizes
My experience with the DynoPak dynos is that they read higher than a DYno Dynamics but slightly lower than a Dyno Jet. Somewhere in the middle I guess! I heard that there is a place in Sydney with a Dynojet, if its true I will take my car there for a bit of a test

My brothers boss has had a little tuning done on his 20B FD. First up with 10psi and still running the base maps from microtech, they got 499HP ATW.
They have done a little bit of tuning and now at 6500rpm and 13psi they have 540HP ATW. Not bad going with a lot of tuning work still to come.
Engine is ported and running a T45 turbo , don't know the specs though

The conversion factor for dynapack dyno's is around 1.2 for a 2wd manual car, so you simply multiply your rwhp * 1.2.
E.g my 13B = 472*1.2 = 566BHP
the 20B = 540*1.2 = 648BHP
Should get up to around 670rwhp @ 20psi or 804BHP asuming an ideal linearized scale of power increase to boost increase, it will make this power so long as you do not have too much loss of efficiency in the IC, Exhaust System, Ignition etc etc.
Hmmm 20B
PS the dyna pack is one awsome piece of gear, very very repeatable results +- 1% and you can actually see the revs....I want one of these for my house !

UPDATE, but different car, my brothers boss has had his drag car on the dyno, same dyno, same engine set up (uses the same ECU swapped between cars),
at 18psi, on pump gas, 750HP at the flywheel (thats the estimate from the RW figure, brother did not now the actual ATW figure but it was more than the road car was.
They are going to run the car on Methanol and will run more boost I believe.
Will make its 1st track appearance with the 20B this sunday if the weather is fine.

Well the drag car ran, 10.3 with the turbo going south for the winter at about 2/3 - 3/4 track. Exhaust wheel sheared off and totaled the exhaust housing etc.
Was 1.32, now only had time to get hold of 1.22 exhaust housing in time for the Rotary Nats on the Sunday just gone. Ran 9.66 with just 18 psi boost to be NZ's fastest rotor by a long shot, though still a long way behind OZ and the US.
