Z06

Are Z06's fast, unmodded. A kid wants to race me when i get done and i dont wanna pay to go to the drag strip and get in front of tons of ppl and lose. My 84 SE is going to be running RB exhaust and pineapple racing sleeves with elec fan and no ac when the time comes. If i would even stand a chance id try, but if hes gonna blow me away then not gonna try.

The Z06 has what, 400hp? Your SE has 135 stock, and probably 150ish with the RB exahust. There is really no way that you would win, unless the Z06's driver is really, really bad.

yea, ive never seen a z06 so i wasnt sure. Ill save my dignity

Ahhh, vettes are nice cars, i dont like stingrays thou, and im more of a mustang person

Z06's beat up on stock 3rd Gens.

They truly are one of the best bang for the buck cars in the world, and are the yardstick to which most people compare their perfomance to.

Even with a 13BT, and lots of boost, I would be wary of racing a Z06. They can run 12's - bone stock. They have huge tires and grip, and traction control to take off like a bat out of hell without ANY wheelspin. Not to mention the'll do over 150 mph no problem, before you'd even hit 100 mph.

And in the "twisities" they are just as dominant if not more so.

Can you tell I like (and respect) Vette's?

You might as well say you're racing a Viper, because that's the only stock American car that can offer a challenge to it.

z06= 12 seconds stock, dont even try and race him
your se is in the lines of 16 seconds stock maybye 3/4 a second off that with the exhaust, but doubtfull

i believe i read an article a couple weeks ago compare a zo6, viper, and mustang cobra-r. i think if you havent gotten the point by now.. you should race him

Yes but BigJim does not have a single turbo FD engine with NO2 in his SE.... now MIKE P and DirectFreak on the otherhand..

The ZO6 Corvette is one of Americas finest automobiles manufactured right now

I am a huge fan of the new corvettes.

very fast and supriesingly very easy to drive for a car the has 400hp. The clutch is amazingly smooth at slow speeds.

The Vette dominates on all tracks. Be it the drag track, road track, or an autocross track. Don't even think about racing him. You would need about 350HP before you can think of even trying.

Yea at the runoffs, all the vipers stayed home cause the vettes kicked their asses in T1.

The Z06 ended up being the death of FD domination in SCCA Superstock. You know, the class the NSX owned before then. The FD usually won over the C5s, but the Z06 is so good and so numerous that you won't see any FD in Superstock that isn't just driving for fun.

The only thing I can tell you is that The guy in the zo6 isn't having any more fun then you are and you saved about 55K. Don't feel bad because your car would get trounced by his.......Your question is like asking if you could out speed a 911 turbo on the interstate. Just kick all the local honda's and camaros and mustangs and enjoy your car, vettes and vipers are for the rx-7 guys running 20lbs of boost and who have more money and time then us poor rb headers and 2.5 all the way back wieght reducing indiglow gauge having clear lense sporting FB owners.

Vettes are nice. But you could spend 1/3 the money on an FB project that would take him. But ya know........its all about the money.....

Its actually funny that someone with a Z06 wants to race an FB....one day he will choose the wrong Wankel to play with.
