Your dream 1G..........

I saw this in the FC section and thought it would be interesting here.

Soo, what is your DREAM FB/SA?

Mine is pretty much the car I have now, plus a Camdon and suspension. Oh yeah, and NO rust!

If i could have my dream FB it would have no rust. NOOOO RUST kinda hard here in MN. overbuild the engine, then i would throw a camden on there , simmons rims, remove sidemoulding and repaint the bitch. then get a rockin soundsystem and ******* drive with the windows down blasting the music of my choice. i think it would be cool to take a stock SE and throw a microtech just to see what it's really capable of.

Ford Azure Blue (Mustang Mach 1 color), matching rollcage, blue/black race seats, black interior peices.

12a T (JDM, yo), bare essentials (no AC, PS, PW, uh, like my car is now! On the bare essentials at least)

ROH Snipes, gunmetal.

A baby wire (I think I saw an old pic of your car with one, Max7. Where did you get it?)

Emissions-legal S5 TII 13B swapped into a 1980 SA22C. GSL-SE suspension and brakes swapped under it, keeping the -SE wheels--I like 'em. GSL-SE interior swapped into it, just cause I like having a standard DIN slot in the dash, not to mention all the power goodies.

Hell, put SA taillights on a GSL-SE, and I'd probably be happy just with that.

1985 GSL-SE Sunbeam Silver / Maroon

S5 engine, race prepped and ported, looking for ~200rwhp@11,000rpm
(associated gadgetry to get that working)
multi-plate carbon clutch
s4/5 LSD center unit
carbon driveshaft

s4/5 front brakes
5x4.5 bolt pattern front and rear
FD 16" rims w/ 225 series rear tires and 205 series front tires
tokico illumina shocks & tokico springs all around

pretty much everything else way it already is, perhaps a classy set of race seats to replace the leather seats in the -SE.

(i've probably forgotten something, but it's early so you'll forgive me I hope )

84GS

Sunbeam Silver professional repaint inside and out, RhinoLining on the undercarriage to prevent rust

From front to back because I'm bored:

- Clear turn signal lenses with coloured lights
- The new clear halogen headlamps in Victoria British
- 2nd Gen Rad, GSL or -SE oil cooler
- OMP 2-stroke resivoir
- Custom ignition computer based off a 2nd Gen CAS input, with Iridium DFIS plugs
- 100+ Amp Alternator (either from the Buick write-up or maybe an Rx8?)

Engine '84 12a:
- Ceramic coating done by JHB Engineering - entire rotating assembly and housings
- '84-'85 rotors, clearanced
- 3rd gen corner seal springs
- RB Oil Pump and high pressure oil bypass
- S4 water pump modded to fit
- Hardened Stationary Gears
- Lightly Streetported
- Lightweight Steel Flywheel, RB Clutch kit
- Dowel-pin-with-heat-shrink fix
- OMP adapter
- Probably glass bead blasted exterior, depending on what the JHB finish looks like
- New motor mounts, obviously
- Aftermarket oil temp and pressure sensor block w/ sensors

- Rx7Carl/Sterling Carb
- Mallory Comp70 (if it'll provide enough fuel, otherwise Comp110)
- Holley 1-4psi FPR
- Paul Yaw fuel pressure gauge
- Whatever Carl and Sterling come up with for a good manifold

- RB exhaust, dual primary system
- All new parts on EVERYTHING
- Replacement for fusible link box

- RB springs, Tokico adjustible shocks/struts (I've got KYB right now, so I wouldn't mind sticking with them)
- LSD rear end, or perhaps miata rear end swap. Go one size larger on rear end gear if I can get a spedometre gear to match
- All new Poly in the front... Haven't decided if I just want a "new" OEM steering, or if I want to go CP R&P, or if I want to figure out how to swap a 2nd Gen crossmember for their steering or what.

- Smoked Glass sunroof
- MicroATX -case based computer installed under storage bins with optical drive access in between the seats. DVD, mp3 player, wireless intenet with a 4" LCD mounted In-Dash.
- Infinity Kappa 4.5" fronts, 6" rears. One high quality 8" sub with custom box (try to take up as little hatch space as possible and bounce it off the rear glass
- As yet undecided on Amp and stereo headunit
- Radioshack rubber antenna (I think it looks awesome)
- Rims powdercoated black with MAZDA painted in white
- Aluminum replacement driveshaft?
- Slotted/cross drilled brake rotors, possibly 4pot caliper conversion, SS brake lines
- '84-'85 dash and console with black/grey interior manditory

That's all I can think of right now... Basically aiming for "My GS 12a can beat the **** out of your -SE 13b!". Simplified, slightly enhanced, perfectly tuned, naturally aspirated Mazda perfection. If I were a mazda engineer, and didn't have to listen to the Mazda bean counters, this is what I would have designed.

An 84 or 85 SE, with lo miles, showroom condition, unmolested, starts every time, blows cold air, no leaks, both tops and a full tank of gas.

250hp at the rear wheels.

1973 Opel GT with a street ported, turbocharged, 13B REW transplant or a combi-ported 13b RE EFI transplant (most-likely talking out my *** here : ), as well as a WRX AWD drive train transplant. Reinforce the body to deal with the increase power. Shaved door handles with electric pop-out doors, all badges removed, painted black with a red racing stripe that goes over the hood bulge with an engine bay that is painted white. Blinker wiring linked to the side lights and the stock blinkers replaced with fog lights. Replace all the orange blinker light covers with clear ones and smoke the brake lights, or maybe just the one that would sit in the middle of the red racing stripe. Possibly add an air dam and maybe a tiny wing. Add a sun shade on the rear window. Various other things such as upgrading the brakes and customizing the interior, but that would be decided upon if I actual ever have money to do this.

Yeah, and feel free to flame me for going off topic I couldn't resist.

Very nice fellas.

I'd also like an perfect SA with a worked out 12AT and a wide body and no wing.

my perfect FB would be my car widebodied, with some more suspension work, and to actually finish the grey interior swap... heh... and some rx8 seats... i love em... full exhaust, and a 5 lug conversion... prolby have some kind of 17's... the motor i got going in is a 85 SE engine... ported(by moi), tho i'd probly rebuild it again, replace some of the parts with race parts, race bearings, hardened stationaries, etc etc... make it a high revver, and turbo it(got a 89-91 turbo and exhaust manifold sitting in the back of the car...
