yoohoo belt part#
quick question,i tried searching, but didn't get any results so i'll post this here. i know the part # for the belt after airpump is gone is 3l220 or something like that, does anyone know the part # for the V belt version. none of the stores i've gone too have been able to find the belt using the 3l220 #. and the closest belt they can find is 1/4 x 21.5" which is .5" too small. so if anyone has done the emmisions removal with a different belt #, could u post it.
thanks alot

Try your local Napa. They should have a 3L220 V Belt. If not there then try your best hardware store. It really shouldn't be that difficult to find the belt. Get out your phone book and start calling people and asking. It took me five minutes to locate one using the phone book....

Yoohoo
I ordered my belt from Mowtown.com. Arrived rather quickly, and got the correct part. You can just use the 3L220 at their site to find it. I couldn't find anyone near me that had it, or had the sense to look it up correctly. Hope this helps...

The Napa belt is too wide and is difficult to install. Then it's too tight until it breaks in. This causes wear on the bearings. I discovered that a Napa yoohoo belt with only a couple hundred miles on it went on much easier than a new one, so I was going to come up with a way to pre-run the belts before installing them.

Edit: Unless you are talking about the serpentine belt setup which is considerably more money. I am thinking I saw it on Ebay for almost 250 bucks. Also most people (myself included) no longer have an air pump or air conditioning. This makes it where you only need the alt/fan/water pump belt. When only running one belt it tends to slip at high rpms (pretty much anything over ~3500) since it barely touches the water pump.

A much better belt than the lawn and garden belt and one that is the same width as the alternator belt to avoid the belts fighting to speed up and slow down the pully at the same time is .
Napa Belt "7215", or "25 7215" SKU number 029769102251
It is a 15 series automotive belt made to be on a car, dimensions are 25/64 x 22-1/8
or 9.5/10mm x 560 mm.

Yep, that's the Napa yoohoo belt that I've got on my daily driver. Getting it on was difficult. I'll eventually get around to figuring out a way to break them in with an electric motor and another pulley.

epic thread bump! im removing the rats nest on my 81. i found a 22in mower belt and it appears to be too long. im positive im placing it in the correct place.
some discrepancies between the mazspeed write up and my car, my main pulley is missing the foremost channel. whereas the second channel goes to the AC in the writeup, mine is the first, would my puley diameter be different due to some aftermarket kit i dont know i have? what else could it be? because even mock tensioned, the 22in belt is too long.
so i guess my question is what size belt do i need to connect the main pulley to the fan pulley? has anyone else encountered this issue?

Here is a pic of the right one. Gates 7215. When you are at the parts store, it looks super small...it is the right one.
Any...hooo... you have to remove the fan and then roll on the belt like a bicycle chain. I found it easy to put it on the water pump pulley first and then roll it around the crank pulley while turning the engine with your hand.
Bought it at O'reilly for ten bucks...
