The one before it was ok too.You could combine the two, and have the three open vents across the front, and two drop-panel vents behind it... that could look nice....

I really like some of the later designs that have been put forward. However, I would like to point out that many people's opinions on the vents and how the interact with the stock lines of the car may be thrown off by that particular model. On this model, the hood lines behind the light buckets are angled forward, whereas on my car they are either straight or slighly back (I'm looking down 2 storeys and the car's parked at 45* so I'm not sure which it is) But I know for sure they don't have the 15*ish slant of that model. Just a thought, keep the great ideas coming.
PS I like the one with the deep center dish. Maybe drop the side ones over the struts, and the vents infront of the main dish. Perhaps put those 3 meshed vents on the header panel. I having trouble picturing it, time to bust out PS and put it on some real car, and from different angles. I'll play with it a bit tonight.

1st7heaven: I liked that one alot, did you ever think about selling it? What about the header panel vents, have those been done yet? Haven't heard from you in awhile, I think I remember something about beeing busy, just curious.
People seem to like the vents in the center section, but why may I ask did everyone crap on this hood when it was posted?

My wife and I bought 2 acres in the country and I am in the process of building my "toy box" for my car. I have a lift in it, AC and heat and a ton of other creature comforts. So, I have been busy with that and designing a house to put on it.
I have been selling the fiberglass stock hoods to racers, I just about have the headlight lids done and am moving on to the valance(not done yet). The carbon is very hard to lay up by hand, you end up with a lot of air bubbles in it!! I am looking for someone who can vacuum form them at a reasonable price
this is tough!!!

Why do you think one of the best mods for the FC is a front-mount intercooler? It's because not enough cool air gets to the stock top-mount one from that scoop.
Now let's get back on topic. Stylistically, the blocky TII scoop just isn't right for the gentle curves of the 1st gen (apologies to the owner of the red car posted).
This thread is about Manntis's ideas for vented, not scooped, hoods. I think that he's on the right track, but I want wind-tunnel data.

er... in the one above, all 6 vents are drop-panel, with angled vent openings. (I know the overhead shot doesn't make that clear - sorry for the confusion) - this style is similar to the FEED hood popular on 3rd gens, but with a more squared off look to match our cars' lines
