It hasn't changed much. Get kinda uninterested in the winter months. Doubt I will even start it again til spring.
Here is a video of the 12.44

I will have some slicks next year.
I sprayed a 75 shot on it, had problems in the first 1/8th mile. Didn't want to fire it off and was loading up something bad. Even went 2 mph slower in the 1/8th on the spay compared to off. But once I hit 4th it cleared up and took off. Right before that pass I put back in the 3 degrees of timng I pulled for the nitrous. Well it appeared that was a mistake
But I was running a fbosy that run and I wanted to make sure I put a beating on him. I could here it rattling, but didn't care much so I stayed in it. End up blowing a head gasket ($12) but it went 121mph on that run. Picked up 34 mph in the second 1/8th
Once I get the first half figured out and get it to trap the 1/8th mile numbers it should. It should scoot down the track pretty good. I am pretty sure it will be in the 10's pretty easy next season with slicks. And I will have some nice wheels up launches.
And from a quick add up I think I have about $2500 in the whole car, and $1000 dollars of that is an EFI system that I probably don't even need. lol

i just tapped the 1k mark with my intercooler. i bought a merk wiring harness that came in last week, and im going to try to take a shot at that tomorrow. i also need to come up with a fuel pump, need to route my coolant lines, make intake manifold, and run my intercooler piping. i CANT wait to get it started. i just sucks because x-mas will and is draining my account, so i dont have money to finish it. i just keep dreaming and dreaming though.
edit: nice run.. man if you can get into the 10's thats going to be insane!!!

Every Merkur I've seen has a small 3/4" x 2" sticker in the bottom corner of the window that says "Buckle up for Safety" or something like that.
Didn't that engine also come in the Mercury Cougar XR-7 from the mid 80's?

Holy Cow! And here I thought I was the only one looney enough to play with both XR4Tis and RX-7s at the same time!
This is my first post to the forum, I've mostly been lurking about trying to figure out what I can do to get my '84 RX running again. It decided to just up and quit on me a couple weeks ago. I think I might have to bite the bullet and pull plugs on her and try to dry it out in the middle of winter. Interestingly, the Merkur is in a similar state, dead...in the garage thanks to an evil TFI(ignition) module. I actually love both cars a great deal when they are running.
