[QUOTE='78SavannaRHD]You sure ... I thought the true Series 3's were made from '83-'85 ... and came with the 12A turbo. Here's a link I found:

The 84 and 85 model in Japan was available with the 12AT in 3 grades GT, GT-X and SE LTd, but less than 30% of the cars were sold with that engine the rest were with 12A.

I think what might have happened to the vin numbers is, SA started at 500,000 and kept going on the domestic and export markets which continued to use SA22C model designation, while they restarted at 500000 again for the FB designation in the North American market.

I am not sure the way they numbered the SA 22 from 1982, they were some 50,000 built but my 85s are in a 700000 series, certainly not the 850000 FB series for that year.

Cant tell that, I may want to sale it on here sometime. But I bought it sight unseen, so I did not pay a lot. It is in OK shape. The hood is rusted through in places but that is the only rust I could find. It is sposed to run, hope to test it this weekend. Also got an extra engine with it. Paint is bad and the seats are missing, has steel wheels and is the low model car.

Thanks Hades- because of the car's condition- I am finding it hard to decide between keeping her stock or ultimately having a T2 swap first gen.

I think I would find another car to put the T2 in.
