I already know I'm going to sell my GSL-SE in two years, the next time smog comes up. (It passes fine, I've just got no motivation to keep it.)

I'll probably sell it and get an RX-8. I have a FC and a FD so it doesn't matter what I do with the SA.

^^ Why don't you just keep it if you have the money then? You'll be letting loose the first one in series ... the one that started the rest ...

I could not sell my '79 (unless something dreadful happened in the family which would force me to sell), it is the first car I bought and I brought it back to life after years of negelt and sitting in a barn for 4+ years. My '84 GSL, right now, yes I would sell her only because I have not got to know her very well yet, and she needs alot of work to make running like my SA. If someone wanted to trade an FC, That ran decently, for the GSL I would probally say yes to it.

No real motivation to keep it.. I can always get another if I really wanted to, plus I'd sell it to a friend and I could always buy it back.

Plus if I kept it and got an RX-8, it'd be awfully hard to park four cars in San Francisco.

Currently:
SA = daily driver / track car
FC = weekend / going out
FD = weekend / track

an 8 could concivably replace both the first and second gen.. though I'm quite attached to the FC..

If you car is in reasonable condition, there is no way you could get another sports/sporty car for anywhere near the same price. Whether your cars a basket case or a show winner, an early Miata in the same condition will cost about 3 times as much. If you've invested a lot in upgrades, you'll never get back what it cost you anyway. But, who would have thought a few years ago that you'd see an '63 Impala SS go for $130,000 at Barrett-Jackson auction. So you might as well keep it.

someone wanted an rx and i said i didnt want to sell it, he threw a price out there high enough to make me want to sell it.....he offered 5k!!!!! i could sell it and just buy another one, they are not really that hard to find i dont think, but i cant let this one go, it was my first and its the first car i learned how to wrench on, so i dont think i would do it but its tempting........................its in pretty good shape, 93000 miles, def. not worth 5k tho

i would sell my original RX-7 for the world. after that i will buy back my RX-7 and demand mazda to re-make first gen RX-7 just like they did back in the 80s but since they are remaking them its like buying them brand new with all new parts and nothing to worry about. my restoration project right now is beginning to get at my nerves...=\
