and no, i never want to sell my car. it's just too cool! Maybe sometime in the future, i'll HAVE to sell it, but i really don't want to. Too much work and time went into it, and there's just too much more time and work that I plan on putting in it.

Having had her for such a long time she is obviously of value to you, and being in such a great original condition she is a credit to the way you have looked after her. What are you going to give her for her upcoming 28th birthday? Mine got a full polish and detail for her 25th followed by a run in the countryside.

Not long after I got the widebody on the street, a guy who really likes the car, asked if I would sell it to him and how much. I told him 18k, when I'm done building it, with a sly grin on my face. If he had offered 12k, I would have taken him up on it. Hell, we all have wet dreams, don't we?

I have 3, I paid no more than $400 @, and no I wouldn't sell them, I drive one every day, what else would I drive, a commuter, an SUV ugh, a OMG mini van, I'd just be buying another one so why.
One(84 GSL) is going to be restored into a daily driver, mild street rod style, one (83 GSL) is being made into a race car and the last is put away for a future full stock resto.

On topic, however, you could get me to sell my '83, but only because a basketball goal (portable) recently fell on top of it and crushed the top. Oh, and because the engine is currently pulled and not in the car. Also there is an automatic tranny in the car. heh. If any of those things were different, I don't think I'd sell at all.

I just can't sell this car. I was born in '88, and my dad bought the car in '89. As he fixed it up, I was growing up. I first drove it when I was nine: first car ever driven, in fact. I just have too many memories of the car. No amount of money can overcome the sentimental value.
Now, the silver GSL in my drive way with a blown motor that I just picked up... Well... I'd sell it in a heart beat. Heh.

I could never sell my 84. I've thought about it, but I've had the car too long, and have owned several other cars at the same time. No other car has been able to hold my attention for more than about 8 months before I'm bored.
On another note, kinda off topic, our local Mazda dealer had a car about a year ago that was almost enough to make you cry: It was an red 83 GSL with about 250 original miles. That was no typo. This car was absolutely beautiful! Original tires, and the floor mats were still in the plastic bag they come from the factory in. Absolutely mint condition. They had it in the show room, and I found out from a friend of mine who knows the guy that sold it, that the car has never seen rain, rarely seen sunlight, and was kept in a heated garage all it's life. The dealership was asking $18,000 for it. Now the bad part: it was an automatic. I still would have bought it if I had 18 grand lying around.

sold all of mine except one that i can't even drive on the street anymore. i miss the feel of it so bad. i turn on the one i have every other bad and just sit there. i know that one will be gone soon (for sale in the west classified) but hopefully i will get another one to replace it. i don't think any of those 7's can compare to my first car a white two door 80' corolla (yes the only year they made them with 4 round lights instead of the box ones i think) with a mean little 12a that had everyone guessing when toyota put a rotary in their cars.
still got that corolla in a garage back home.........waiting for me.

I know exactly where my car is going when I am done with it..... Straight to the crusher. I will watch it be crushed in front of me so that I personally know for an absolute fact that no one else will ever own it. I WILL be the absolute last owner of my 83 - end of story.

Sell my 7? No way. For me, there is no "right price" that could come along. I love my car and could never part with her! I definitely want to get another first gen in the future, but I'm keeping my 84GS forever.
