Praticality of venting a hood
I have a hood that has an unfortunate ding (baseball I suppose, happened before I bought it) right in the center of the hood. To make matters worse, the support ribbing in the back, covers up the back of the ding, making any repair more expensive. In any case, I pulled a good hood from a salvage yard that I can replace it with.
My question is if you think it is worth hanging on to, to have a body shop put in vents? At least then the cost would be built into the upgrade, as opposed to zero net gain in just fixing it.
...or are all these types of hoods fashioned from scratch with fibreglass, or similar materials?
If it is practical, do you know where I could get a vent pattern that would actually work? ...or a vent insert (ala an aftermarket sunroof) tha could be installed in the hood?
Thanks,
Brian TC
