2. Do you guys think its possible to just make one with some fiberglass.
I happen to like the hood, plus it's funtional. I know this guy who's really good whith fiberglass, and thoughy maybe he can coypythe design.
Just anted to get your opinions!

You use some kinda-fine mesh screen mounted on the underside of the vent's opening, to sort-of keep ****
out, but not liquid's (water) will get right in. That is a big-*** vent, in that hood. One would think, that a style, any style will look ok on a 1st gen, then you see, or it 'comes' to you, that allthough the 1st gens hood, fender, profile is very simple, only a couple of,vents/scoop really look right. IMO

If you look closely, you can see the fan. In the angle that it sits, im sure it blows all that heat right out of the engine bay. Since I'm instaling a FMIC, i have no need for a "ramair" hood.
Since they dont sell hoods for our cars here in the US or canada, I guess were going to have to fabricate our own.
BTW: I don't think it'll be snowing any time where I live

i like the vent idea.... great way to get the hot air out and if you do it right infront of the motor and behind the rad then nothing gets wet man that vent is HUGE a can cat would crawl in there.

The purpose of a vented hood is to use the low pressure area on top of the hood to "draw" hot air out of the engine bay. Effectively reducing the air pressure in side the engine bay and sudsequintly behind the radiator...... Now at speed you have a higher pressure area in front of the radiator than behind. If you throw in the vented hood the lower pressure area behind the radiator becomes even "lower". Now the high pressure area has then need to fill that void even more moves at a faster rate, therefor more volume moves through the radiator, and voila more effective coling from the same radiator.
Thanks for listening,
Ryan

It's acctually a stock GSL-SE radiator, and I had to make mounts to hold it where it is.

No, popping the hood latch will allow the air building up at the base of the windshield to enter the engine bay. You will be inducting cool air into the engine bay (on it's own merit, good) and increasing the air pressure inside the engine bay, which is the complete opposite of a vented hood.

At my last track day, there was a guy with an NSX with this setup and he said it produced noticeablly more front downforce, even though it wasnt completely finished and sealed up.

The vent itself is really nothing more then just cutting
the hood 3 times, but whats more important is,,where !
one cuts 3 times...yep.. the stuff that you see 'on' the hood(outside) is just 'extra' aero-styling, oh. i'm sure that ,,that small 'lip' around the vent does effect some ,
but thats one way to make a huge hole in your hood not look so bad. I'm all about vents,, i think if done well the vent(s) look ******* killer. Thats one reason i say 'mariah' they've been there, and. Done that . the body 'kit' on that blue 3rd gen looks like a RE Armiamia ....,,.,...,.,.something,...
