Hey everyone I'm a n00b here, my name is Behtash and I own an 83' rx7. I was just wondering what you would recommend for my 13b engine in terms of oil and what capacity I should fill it up to?
I was also told by someone who owned a similar year rx7 as me that I should use a non-synthetical oil as well, your thoughts ladies and gentlemen?

Hey man, welcome to the forum. Probably 20w 50 oil if its hot(above 80 degrees F) there already or 20w 40. If you have the owners manual then it will tell you what you should use and the capacity. If you don't have the owners manual, you'll will probably find your answer quick using the things i'll tell you to check out. There's is always a debate about synthetic in a rotary or no synthetic. There's a thread in the faq page that talks about this. Check out the faq page(stickied at the top of the forum) and browse through that. Just this, will give you a good amount of knowledge for what new people mostly ask. Also check out the archives and use the search button. These are very helpful tools for all of us. God bless you

Great site: This guy is one of The Mazda Rotary gurus - lots of info including your questions, plus more you probably should be asking. Others here will point to other resources.
Specifics of your Qs:
-don't have a 13b, so can't help you with capacity
-most here use reqular dino- oil - Castrol GTX being my personal fav. Since it is STRONGLY (!!!) recommended you change oil AND filter every 3K mi on a rotary, cost vs benefits of synth may be moot. Racing Beat does sell about the only Synth oil I have seen eve4r recommended for Rotaries - read their site racingbeat.com. HOWEVER: synth in the tranny and diff are very popular - I use Redline in mine...

Welcome to the forum and the Darkside. In the archives is a long debate about dino vs synthetic, your decision.
In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs, read, download and read some more of whatever you need. The fill capacities are listed there, but as stated, you have a non-stock engine. Start with a fresh filter and 4 qts. of your choice of oil, start the engine, check for leaks, then top off the dip stick.

I run 10W-30 Royal Purple in my 13B and have not faced one problem. Engine feels a lot better from the change, I admit.
The weight of the oil that should be used is listed in service manuals depending on your temperature range in your area. Granted my area can get up into the 100's, I still run the 10W-30.
According to the Haynes manual, the weight goes as follows:
-10 to +50 degrees C (15 to 120 F) = 20W-50
-10 to +40 degrees C (10 to 100 F) = 20W-40
-18 to +50 degrees C (0 to 120 F) = 10W-50
-18 to +40 degrees C (0 to 100 F) = 10W-40
-18 to +30 degrees C (0 to 85 F ) = 10W-30
Below -18 degrees C (0F) = 5W-20 or 5W-30
