"would a 3rd gen rx7 motor and tranny fit in my fb?"

does an elephant punch women in the face?

yes it will fit and yes you need to SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!! not trying to be rude bro, but this question has been asked atleast....... 1,2324,3,4,23,423,423,42 times. there is some damn good info in the database. check it out

i can tell you it's actually not too hard............ if you know what's going on once the motor is in... you gotta decide what you want to do about an ecu.

SEARCH!

Have you used the search function? This has been asked thrice this week, and many times before.

Anything is possible with enough money. The third gen is expensive. You need custom motor mounts, aftermarket flywheel and clutch setup, the computers are a nightmare so you probably want to go standalone. Upgraded fuel system, relocate the shifter.... the list goes on and on and on.

It's been done by at least one person, probably 10g

Swap a TII instead. LOTS of info available (as opposed to the third gen swap where there's little to no info available), easier to do, cheaper, and still very powerful.

And for god's sake, we made the Search function, FAQ and Archive for a reason. If you haven't consulted all three, don't post.

Don't know how much useful information on doing the swap there is, but 12 minutes of searching (2 searches) found me this:

Anything fits with a big enough hammer or wallet

Or in some cases one backed with another

Jon

PS: Went to the "dark side" for these:

I tried searching at ausrotary.com since those crazy Aussies are always pulling stunts like this but I couldn't figure out how to word my search to bring up good results. If anyone else wants to try and find more at nopistons or ausrotary, I'd appreciate the help. Maybe we can answer this question once and for all.

I disagree and suggest you use a later 1993+ Engine, with aftermarket ECU. They have many improvements to the Engine and more support from specialists and Vendors. It is neither extraordinarily difficult nor expensive.
