Is this worthwhile? junkyard saving an FB
well its an 82 black with black leather interior, no sunroof and no body rust. complete vechile. 300 bucks. its at the junkyard and therefore has a salvage title. The car has everything. but doesnt run. I have a n/a 13b 87 donor car at work. Is it a worthwhile use of 300 bucks?

Damn. I remember riding in the back (no back seat) from Socal to Las Vegas in my cousin's lowered and bumpy *** 83 with no A/C nor sunroof. But that was when I was 15 years old and only weight 130.

I'd buy it if it was around here and I have way too many as it is!Just offer the seller a lower figure, see if you can save a little money. 300 bucks sounds high to me unless it really doesn't have any rust. But that's a junk yard price .They could get more selling it for parts. I'll give you 175 for the leather seats though if they are in good shape and you want to sell them.Be sure to check all the usual spots for rust. I haven't seen one yet that didn't have rust in the wheel wheels or below the storage compartments for 300 bucks.
Good luck!

A good body without rust is well worth the $300. As for the salvage title, it only hurts the value if you plan to sell the car, until then, it makes no difference in how the car looks, runs, or drives. If you plan to keep it, and use for a daily driver, it would be a fairly inexspensive way to build, assuming it is not missing any vital/costly parts.
The other downside to the salvage title, is if the car gets wrecked. Insurance companies seldom pay much for a car with a salvage/rebuilt title, even if it was not your fault causing the wreck.

I've paid twice that for an 85 with little rust, mint gray interior and the engine came in 2 boxes. 300 is a good deal if the body and interior is in good shape. I over paid, but I wanted the gray interior, the black is even more highly prized. I'm not a fan of leather seats, but the leather door panels are nice.
