Won't stay running at idle or even constant RPMs
I just finished the Rats Nest Removal as well as stripped the carb and intake manifold as much as possible on my '85 GS w/ a 12A. I used RX7Carl's guide, Vipernicus42's walkthrough, as well as Glazedham42's write up. I couldn't get the choke assembly bracket off as I thoroughly stripped one of the screws. I JB Welded where the altitude compensator was. I tried installing the 3L220 belt but I must have ordered the wrong size, so I just have the alternator belt on. I tried to set up the vacuum lines like RX7Carl laid out but I don't think I did it right and it wouldn't start. I winded up just connecting the two lines from the distributor to a T fitting and then to the vacuum connector furthest from the firewall and plugging the rest. I left the secondaries alone. It's possible I disconnected the wrong electrical plug in my frustration with the Rats Nest.
The engine will start, but only when I'm pumping the accelerator. It dies at any constant RPM, whether it's 6000 or idle. If I keep pumping, it keeps running.
I have searched through the forum, but it's possible that I may have missed the article describing the solution to this problem.
How can I fix it so that the car will idle? Can anyone direct me to the correct thread or suggest a solution? I appreciate any help I can get.

Started it up today while looking into the top of the carb. It will idle for a short period now (w/o pumping the accelerator), but a lot of fuel is being pumped to the passenger side of the carb and the secondaries aren't opening, even under WOT. If I manually open them, the engine quickly redlines. I tried to examine the linkage, but couldn't get a good look. Either way, I'm not sure why that much gas is being pumped to that side at idle.
