Wont run
The happened over christmas break. My car was running fine, I let it sit for two days and when I tried to start it up again, it woudnt. It will sit and crank, but wont start. I pulled the spark plugs and they are firing. I wasnt sure if it was getting gas so I put some in before I put the spark plugs back in, and put a little down the carburator. Still nothing. It seems to be getting spark and fuel and its a new engine so I cant figure out the problem. Any help, thanks

Disconnect the fuel line from the carb (the larger diameter one--- the smaller one is the fuel return line).
Place the end of the fuel line into a container to prevent spillage. Now turn the ignition key to the "on" position. (Do not attempt to start).
Assuming the fuel pump is working (if it is, you'll hear it running. It's located under the drivers' side of the car just ahead of the fuel tank) you should have fuel pouring into the container from the hose. If not, you've found the problem.
If you do have fuel flow the problem is elsewhere. Re-connect the fuel line and then remove your spark plugs. Inspect them. Are they dry and tan or grey in color? If so, they're ok, and you've already stated that you're getting spark. Re-confirm that this spark is getting to each plug by inserting the plugs into their respective wires and cranking the engine over. You should see the sparks jumping across the gaps of all four plugs. If it is, then you need to consider the possibility that the timing may be out of whack since the plugs are clean and dry.
But if the plugs are wet (all four of them), you have a flooding problem.
To fix, pull the fuel pump fuse under the dash and inside the fuse box. Now crank the engine over for 30 seconds or so to get rid of all the un-burned fuel in the engine. Now re-install your plugs, re-insert the fuse, pull the choke **** and try to start the car. Do not pump the accelerator! this will re-flood the engine.
One other possibility is if only the plugs from one housing (front or rear) are wet, usually black and oily. This would be bad news--- it means you've lost an apex seal. Hopefully this is not the case.

One more thing--- how much juice is left in your battery? These engines like to have an aggressive cranking speed to start, especially older engines with lower compression. But you said yours was a near-new engine so compression shouldn't be a problem.
If not cranking over very quickly, get a jump start or charge the battery before trying again.

My car is in sacramento and im in san diego, so I can attempt to work on it right now. But I am going to bring my 7 down here in a few weeks. The problem I noticed was that the plugs seemed to have allot of gas on them, when I pulled them. but I was thinking that that was from me pumping the accelerator pedal, trying to get it started. Like I said before, when I did work on it, it was only for a few mins. so I couldnt really check things out. I doubt it is a blown seal. The engine only has 30k on it. AndI dont drive it to hard. Also I would of heard it blow. Nothing like that happened. I had been driving it fine and then I parked it for two days and when I tried to start it, nothing. It will just crank. But thank you for all the input. I will try all of this in a few weeks when I have time to work on it more.
You know what I was thinking? this happend over christmas break. I bought a new mazda 3 and the day a bought it, my 7 stoped running???? maybe he's mad=)
