i just had a similar problem. the tabs that hold the interior trim on. one had rotted through and since it rained here for like 10 days straight. the inside of my car was like a swimming pool. i didnt realise the quarters could hold that much water!

Ok, so:
Drivers side plug holds water.

Now, the drains run as such:
Sunroof = Out the side vents of the B pillar
Hatch = Run out of the 2 drains that are behind the rear bumper.

The only thing I can think of is that my drivers side hatch line would be cracked? I would assume that is what is causing the water to pool up in my drivers side rear fender, so to speak.

So, would it be safe to leave the drain plug out? I will be fixing the hose (if that is the problem) asap, but as far as having that fixed, would water be kicked back into the hole from the tire? Basically I am asking, what are the negatives to not putting the plug back in
