wiper motor or switch?
when i turn on my wipers on the 1st setting, they will move then stop randomly. sometimes they wipe all the way, but for the most part they don't. i havn't had any problems on the other settings so i don't know if its the motor or the switch. any help would be great--thanx

Sounds like the wiper motor is working at the mechanical end (actual unit) so it must be electrical. 4 easy places to check:
1) switch assy. You can easily get a whole replacement assy on-line (here in Sale area or ebay, for eg) for $25. Easy to swsp if you have basic tinkering skills...
2) the harness connection between the wiper motor itself and the car's harness is right up in the exterior panel with the motor. i have noticed that, thru yrs of exposure to the sun, this connector actually disintegrates (!) So if yours is in this shape maybe the failing connector has caused a problem?
3) if you or someone was dicking around under the dash near the steering column where the signal/wiper sw plugs to the main harness? check for loose connection
4) does your car have the wiper poer pass thru a relay? has that failed? you'll need a factory (or maybe Haynes) wiring diagram to trace it -and again the only easy way to check it is to swap in a replacement

could just be low battery. if I run my stereo for a while while working on the car without the engine running, the wipers start doing that if activated shortly thereafter. Once the alt charges things back up the problem disappears.
