window issues

I just picked up an 85 GSL to round off my FB, FC, FD colllection and among its many querks is the driver's side window. It is off track and is a major PITA to go up or down (mostly up). So like any normal person would do I removed the door panel to have a look. I figured I could just adjust the window to solve the problem but it doesn't seem that simple. The plastic rollers that move in the slots on piece the window attaches to look quite deteriorated and the pins that go through them are bent. Is there a way I can fix this or am I in the market for another power regulator? -thanks the guy with a wet *** when it rains

I think you can just replace the worn parts. Ill open up my door panel in the next few days and take a look.

I have the same problem, But I dont remeber what parts were in it, adjusted it a few years ago but it didnt help, I've just been dealing with it.

The miata guys have a plastic guide that deteriorates, there are aluminum/delrin/nylon replacements, do we have any such replacements or are we stuck with factory? and where do we get them?

Edit: Rereading your post, I dont have your problem, my window pops out of the tracks on the perimiter of the window, i replaced the seal but it still tries to go up crooked.

needs a regulator, you used to be able to get just the regulator without the motor for a reasonable price. it also should get the glass run rubber, 8871-58-605C.

you can try cleaning and greasing the regulator, but it probably won't fix it

Just an update for anyone else that may have a similar issue: I greased the slide a whole bunch and drilled a new hole in the door to angle one of the arms to re-align the window. Now it works great. I can take pics to illustrate if anyone would need me to.

Look right below the door handle rod. There are two bolts that attach part of the regulator to the door. I loosened the front bolt and removed the rear bolt completely to allow the piece to pivot. Then move it around while raising and lowering the window. When you find a spot that works, mark it and either file the factory hole or drill a new one. As you can see in the picture, I started to file the hole oblong down but decided that was too far to go so I broke out the drill. I also did a little tweaking to the front vertical track. Mine was bent slightly and the same method of filing the hole to make adjustments will work there too

Was having a bit of trouble w/ my driver window not going up straight.

Greased the track & gear, reglued the seal it rides in & it's working better than it ever has now.
