Will this rim fit this tire?

ok so on my 84 GSL... I have P175/80R13 tires on my car... they are brand new... i got them and the rims for free .. ok, but the rims on this tires are ugly.. and i think one of the rims are bent.. so i was wondering I have another set of tires and rims that are P185/70R13... will the rims on these tires fit the tires on my car? thaxs

he didnt ask if the RIMS will fit - but if the 175's (that are new, but have UGLY and BENT rims) will fit on to his existing wheels which currently have 185's on em...right? - ok, so the "70" and "80" is only the height - and a mere 10 ml difference - especially narrower - will easily fit on to your current rims that house the 185x70 - 13's.
BUT - you realise you will be going narrower AND taller...Personally I think 185's are a bit thin...and the 70 is too high...so I guess its up to you...but it can happen...
I actually also have the standard 185x70x13's - and asked my tire guy if I could replace em when they needed it with 195s...he said - I could go 175 - but not 195 (on my standard rims) - plus the fact that 185s are an odd size these days...

Did your tire guy give you a reason for not being able to use 195s? I have 205 60 13's and have no rubbing issues.. and with the 60 height and the wider tire, the profile is visibly the same as the stock tires..

Well, actually I meant that the tires will easily fit the rims. I also run 20560r13's on stock wheels.

In Australia - (apparently) there are pretty STRICT guide lines. . I have tried 3 tire places and ALL say - no go to anything fatter than the 185's on my standard rims. (5 and 1/2 inches??) for some reason, laws, insurance etc..I need to purchase a wider rim to accomadate anything wider than what I have...???

I've got 205 60 on my stock SA alloy rims and didn't even know it until I looked. Weird.

the 175 80 R13 tirese will fit on the OE 13" Rim. They are a 13" tire.

Now a lesson on tire sizes...

185 70 R13 for example...

The 185 reperesents the width of the tire and 70 represents the depth of the side wall to the tire bead (edge of the tire that seats against the rim)

Thoes numbers are not actual measeurements, they are infact ratios between the Highth and width of the the tire.

So the 175 80 R13 fits a 13" rim, but is a bit taller, and skineyer then the OE 185 70 R13.

As long as you have the approperat clearance the tire will fit
