I have a set of 16" wheels with a 38 mm offset and 205/45R16 tires on with no spacers and get only a little bit of rub on the front sway bar (RB) at full crank. Sport Compact Car mag did a 1st gen build and they found that a 40mm offest with the same tires as I have would yield no rubbing under any suspension load. No spacers needed.

I don't understand how some need adapters/spacers with 16"x 7" rims while others don't when everyone's talking about high offset wheels (> +35mm)?

Buffumguy - if your cars a non-SE, than do you have 4 x110mm PCD? If so, who makes or made 16" wheels for that PCD?
