Yea,I really like the tight knit, family atmophere of Mazspeed, but it can be a bit slow sometimes.Plus I felt it was neccesary to supply accurate info and corrections about the mods on my car now that everyone has seen it.
Until about 3 weeks ago, almost no one had seen it and as far as I can tell, its one of the most modified FBs out there.(not bragging........observation.......Ive been on Mazspeed almost daily for 7 years)

Its hand made. The "ramp" is just the stock hood skin folded down. The sides are sheetmetal. The whole thing was joined together with panelbond which is extremely strong and wont warp the metal like welding.
Daliracing.com does a similar thing with aluminum NSX hoods.

Hi there Steve. Again, holy crap that's a nice car!
My friend has a wide body kit collecting dust that will soon go onto a GSL-SE. It's currently got an unfinished FD engine swap that we're pulling for a Cosmo engine swap. Anyway, I think the wide body kit is one of those with the cassette style fronts. Old pics of the car can be seen on my webpage. It's the brown GSL-SE with the CYM engine bay (the rest will get painted after the body kit is installed).

I could have had a VERY nice widebody. I seen it for sale, REALLY wanted it, but didn't beg my parents enough for the extra $500 and 8 hour drive to get it. It had all the usual bolt ons. Had RB exhaust, Weber 48 IDA, centerforce clutch, e-fan, rats nest removed, you know, the usual things to make the car FAST without porting or forced induction. From the looks of the pic that I saw, it was the package that Mariah has. Its the one with the widebody kit, wheels, tires and flying whaletail. All it needed was a paint job.
Nice cars though. But that car that I saw for sale over half a year ago for $2000 CND would have been the best deal of my life if I had gotten it. It was my dream 7.

Nice car steve!
I too am in love with the WideBody FB. There is definatly a rarety to it that FD's only touch. My GSL-SE was going to be widebody, but it has been laid to rest.
One day I will build my dream FB.....It's just going to be awhile....

It ain't easy to equal that car in the pics up there, but I'll share my car anyway...
This is my widebody SA (1982 S2):
Specs are as follows: 1982 SA (European S2 is still a "SA" chassis code, but has different bodystyle)
Mariah Mode One with custom sideskirts.
FD front brakes, 1985 LSD rear axle. RB springs. Currently finishing S5 TII swap with Wolf 3D ECU, emissioncontrols removed. 70mm exhaust. SX fuel pump. Lightwheight flywheel. PLS three piece wheels, with 225/15 tires all round. Momo steering wheel, FD seats, custom interior in red/black imitation leather (incl. seats). Removed rearseats.
Still some work in progress, but I expect to have the car on the road again soon...

Car has been in project mode for ~2 years. I have a 13BT in it on a stock turbo right now. Motor has 0 miles and is build using S6 rotors and apex seals. Has a modified S6 UIM, street ported and dowl pinned.
Car has S4 TII tranny with custom shifter and MR Short shifter. Custom TII driveshaft.
I am installing some 2nd gen hubs and the 4 pot calipers.
Cooled by griffen radiater and NPR I/C. All lines and bolts on engine are stainless. Redid entire fuel system with steel braided SS Lines.
All being ran by a haltech e6K
I need to get some update pics of it.
I will be upgrading the turbo after i get my wheels/tire sorted. I am just worried about traction. I am thinking of doing this instead of a WB. It is a photoshop and i will be doing almost everything exactly like this minus the mirrors.

she's been reincarnated into another vehicle. The 79 had stress cracks in the frame, and was missing some critical structural stability.
However, I found a 1985 GS model for DIRTcheap, with a COMPLETE, and MINT interior. It even had the original floormats. The widebody kit came off of the 79, along with almost everything else, and went onto the 85.
The 79 was named Double J after Jenna Jameson... Both have smooth, flowing curves (that are obviously bolt-ons), everybody wanted at least just ONE ride in her, She was the object of affection by many, and the object of disgust by others, when you got inside her, it's the most fun ride you'll ever have in your life, and when it's all said and done with, her back is covered in grease and goo. The car and Ms. Jameson had everything in common.
However, now, everything is being transferred over to the 85, which is appropriately named Double B, after Brianna Banks. Same philosophy, but in a newer, slightly younger model. And one of Vivid Pictures best selling movies is Brianna Loves Jenna.
I've been thinking of having the gas door airbrushed with a picture of the movie's box cover.
She's also going to be painted Montego Blue.... from a 93 RX-7.
