Umm... Why? IMHO they ruined a perfectly good RX-7 by making it look like a Dodge.

I've seen the same thing done with a Corvette before (sorry, no pic). It seems to make the statement "I really like the Viper, but had to settle for this POS with a funky kit".

I like the 1st gen the way it is/was with the OEM (or OEM-like) kits that were offered, and the Mariah kits. This is an abomination though. I'll bet it would FLY with a 8.0 L V10 in there though...

To each his own I guess...

Take care,

I know of the guys who make that kit. Just so you all know, they market it as a full conversion complete with a Mustang suspension, 9" rear end, V8 engine, etc. It is essentially a Mustang with an RX-7 body. They view the FB as a cheap and highly available shell, nothing more.

Personally I hate that fugly thing, and I hate their attitude towards our cars.

That has to be the WORST looking 1st gen I have ever seen. It looks so out of proportion compared to a stock 7. And whats with the shelby cobra like side exhuast on a car thats soposed to look like a viper.

Why not take all the money they spent on that and drop in a bridge ported turbo II engine.

that has to be the ugliest P.O.S. that ive seen it makes me feel ashamed to own a RX7....

ok that may be going too far but thats exactly what the kit does, go too far!

Actually SilverRocket, I know of the person who makes this kit as well. He (Ian) does not use any Mustang or Ford parts, so it is not a Mustang with an RX-7 body. Ian actually uses Chevy parts off of mid 80's to early 90's Camaros. The blue pic you posted is a bad pic in my opinion. He does have other ones posted on his site that are much more impressive. I think the kit looks real good, and I have already talked to Ian about transforming my 84 RX-7 into a "Python". If anyone is interested in his site, his addy is http://www.rx7v8.com

Oh well, guess my memory doesn't serve me well this time. Although it hardly matters what POS american junk they stuffed in there. It's now a camaro with an RX-7 body, big difference lol.

I still hate it.

What's the point in buying a perfectly good RX-7 just to make it look like something that it's not. I think driving that around would be like admitting that "I wanted the Chevy, but could only afford this". You'd be the laughing stock of the neighborhood. Especially with those crappy-*** side exhausts! I hate the front end on it especially; it makes it so that the most prominent feature of an RX-7 (the flip-up headlights and long, sloped hood) are eliminated and replaced with a Pontiac-Looking front end!

Heh, *slowly calms down and counts to ten backwards*

Jeff

WARNING!! Viewing the 'rear pic' may induce severe nausea!! Do not click if you're eating!

I'm in shock... it's even uglier than I remember. It looks like some kinda mini wannabee corvette gone psychotically wrong. Whoever made that should be severely beaten with an eccentric shaft.

Yup, those two cars are often at the car shows up here. They dont look anywhere near as clean in person as they do in the pics.

The man who does the engine work on these cars is known throughout Ontario as the biggest crook there is (I would know ) I'd stay away...
