Question Why Must it Smoke?

Allright Peeps, I'm confused here... Overheated my Car Once... Has small dowel Pin leak, not that bad, but there.

Anyways, after I've done my 45 Minute Commute to work, mostly Interstate Driving, 65 MPH. It will ussualy smoke like a devil underneath the hood. I've looked underneath there, and it smells like oil burning, not Antifreeze, but the smoke is coming right from the Exaust Manifold Area.

Is this normal for a car w/ a Dowel Pin Leak. Or would something else cause oil to drip down to that.

Help me out here! I hate people wondering whether my car is overheating again or something.

Btw Stats on car are:

85 GS Mazda Rx-7
Completeley Stock.
Small Dowel Pin Leak.
12a 1.1 Liter Engine
5 Speed Manual Tramsission

Well....

I've got an '83 RX-7, although the actual designation has been gone since before I got it (poor abused car... I think I'm the third owner). I have a serious Dowel Pin Leak, Fixed the Oil Cooler Leak, and an OMP leak...

Normally, I'll notice the smoke from the exhaust side from the OMP leak. I'm pretty sure that's what causes it, because the OMP is really close to my thermal reactor, and at high-speed driving or with the fan on, I'm sure it splatters onto that lovely bit of technology (which technicially shouldn't *be* on my car...)

I do notice an odd smoking sensation from the top of the engine block, near the back, seemingly from underneath the rat's nest. I have yet to figure out what it is, exactly.

If you're looking for something exhaust side, check your OMP. Its one of the bad 3 seals to go, anyway.

As a side note, if your car starts to billow smoke (like mine) nobody will take off at a light before you can get up to decent RPMs :P No trouble with motorcycle flanking, either.

On a similer note... does anyone know why my enter unbody gets a coating of oil? When I park, I get drips from along the exhaust line, and at seemingly random parts of the underbody... I'll be pulling the engine for an overhaul soon (and maybe see what I can do for a 3rd rotor, and/or an aggresive street-port) but if its yet *another* line that's gone, I'd like to know if anyone has an idea.

Poor, poor abused RX-7...
