Get 2 ignitors, replace the trailing one and put the other one in the ashtray or somewhere handy

a follow up-

I have just replaced the trailing ignitor. Now the tach is working properly, but the car likes to backfire and stall. When I rev it up, the RPM falls flat on 0 and the car shuts down. The engine is running pretty rough. Can it be the plugs because it has never fired with the trailing ignitor? or Can it be something else like weak coils? Even when the trailing ignitor needed to be replaced, the car ran smoother. The sound of the exhaust is also inconsistent. It goes braaaap braaaaaaaaaaaap braap braap not like the consistent braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap as usual. Another thing, the exhaust is much quieter. It used to be extremely loud. The engine just wants to shut down and stalls when I take off. In first and second the engine likes to stall. Any suggestions?

Thank you

replace all plugs, check to be sure your leading and trailing are not crossed.

also be sure they aren't firing on the wrong rotor...

wow.. thats crazy, I have raced some fast cars that have well over twice the power I have, and NO ONE has beat me off the line yet. My buddy in his 01 GMC in 4X4... 5.3L modded.. he put it in auto, and I still had him for a bit. My car runs about a 15 flat in the 1/4. My launches are where my precision comes in, and quick precise shifts. His truck beat me by a length, then he sold it, and bought an 02 Duramax, chipped ,filter, straight piped, and now his 9000+ lb truck runs the 1/4 at the track in 14.47, which is a few lengths on me.. CAN you say TORQUE?!.. 900+ftlbs

yeah man.. I mean.. it depends on conditions, tire temps, moisture, etc, but i can prejudge pretty well and I usually know my prime dump rpm, and then stomp it.
If i get to much wheelspin, its just about slipping the clutch or a lower dump rpm..... I mean ****.. racing gets the adrenaline going... Nothing like going head to head with a 74 roadrunner wit a 69 race block 340, cams, alum intake, bored .030" over, hooker headers, and *scratches head* a automatic.. OH, and a 750cfm holley double pumper. We lined up on the highway, at nite, deserted of course. .. his car ...4000+lbs+ his 250lb ***.. mine.. 2600 with me in it.. me knowing that he has a terrible 0-40km/h... launch like a ***** FUKKA.. and take off blasting gears. I had his headlights with me the whole time until the 4bbl's hit.. and the ROAR as he pulls up to within 1 car length of me.. and surprisingly.. I kept him 1 car back all the way to 200km/h when the road ahead was a curve, and I slowed.. .. was one helluva day. He GUARANTEED he would whoop my ***.. well.. he was wrong. However, even I had to admit that he should be running 13's with his mods, questioned it all.. We later pulled his engine, and saw that 2 pistons had so much blow-by in the rings, that they were sloppy by hand. Needless to say... I still won but I havent had the chance to race him again.
