Well you see, Sterling and Carl do basic rebuilds for stock for what $150, and for the price you mentioned you can have it fully modded.. why dont you want it exactly?

But those carbs will never have a chance of passing emissions. If someone needed a new carb and had to pass emissions I'm sure they'd be willing to pay it.

I like to go by the addage that something is worth what someone will pay for it. if someone bought taht carb for $300+ then that is what its worth

Ooh, so you can build a carb that will pass emissions. Sorry then, I've never had to deal with emissions here so I didn't pay any attention to that part of your carb rebuilding.

We rebuild them with the emissions solenoids in place is need be.
The emissions system is seperate from the carb, but the carb does have to have all of the original components on it- altitude comp valve for the idle, richer solenoid, throttle position switch/sensor, choke gizmos, etc. It's not that difficult, but we cannot guarantee the rest of the system because we're not installing them.

The Sterling Carb, however, is reconfigured with respect to venturis, air jets, and fuel jets, and even if all of the components were left on, the emissions system would have to be completely recalibrated (somehow...in effect, redesigned) in order to compensate for all the different mixture-condition variables.

We'll be making retrogradeable changes to the Sterling Carb that may help the carb be able to be "detuned" by using a specific jetting configuration so that it will work with an intact emissions control system and pass a test. We'll be doing this with Mar3's help.

That will make us very happy.
