Who here is running a Demon Carb???
Okay I know one if not 2 members out there is running a Barry Grant Demon carb. I have a weber 45dcoe that I love but its time to upgrade a bit. So before a sell the weber I need to know if anyone is running this carb (500cfm) on a stock or street port 12a?

500cfm is a little big for a stock 12A. That would probably be good for a streetported motor. But either way the Demon carbs are more complicated than they should be. I personally like the simplicity of the Edelbrock Performer 600 on my 6 port 13B. Is personal choice really, but the Edelbrock seems to work well with a rotary.

I have a Demon,2 Holleys and Edelbrock. The edelbrock is very very tunable and the most streetable by far. http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_.../thunder.shtml The Edelbrock 500 cfm thunder series would be perfect for your application with or without a streetport. Secondary activation is completely ans easily adjustable to avoid over carb issues all toghether. It functions like a mechanical secondary carb yet has the streetability of a vaccuum secondary carb.

If you know how to tune a carb, a demon would probably work just as well as an Edelbrock. The thing is they are too complicated IMO. The Edelbrock is super easy to tune, perfect for a first time user. A demon is a lot like a holley, just a little more complicated. Reminds me somewhat of an IDA actually, a bitch to tune with having main jets, idle jets, air bleeds and whatnot. With an edelbrock you have the 2 primary jets, 2 secondary jets and the metering rods. Hell is a 15 second job to change out the metering rods which is like changing jets.

You think this would help me gain some Hp, or at least some preformance by swapping to an Edelbrock? Right now I am using the stock carb. I have never really worked on a carb. engine, just injected and I am afraid I will be in over my head. Any suggestions?
