White smoke coming out of tailpipe? any suggestions

Hi I have a 85 RX7 runs good..the Idling is a lil rough though, Ive noticed that everytime I start my car in the mornings(with the choke pulled out) I see white smoke coming out of the tailpipe, and has a gas type smell ...The smoke stops after the car is warmed up..Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it..any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Just an old engine....don't worry about it too much unless you have it also happening at speed like in 5th gear at 70 mph....then it's time to start saving for a rebuild....

With the choke pulled in, you've got a lot more fuel than air going into the engine to keep it running...that's where the fuel smell and probably the white smoke is coming from, although I won't rule out oil wash or condensation in the chambers themselves being burned off. You'll notice a lot of cars have the white smoke look in the morning if it's cold...not just your car...if it warms up and goes away, then there's nothing to worry about...look at your oil dipstick and check the filler tube for milky condensation...if there isn't any, you're worrying for nothing....you're right, though, there isn't much you can do about it if it is the normal "cold weather" white smoke...

You have nothing to worry about, it's completely normal and there's nothing to fix it

As long as your not losing antifreeze, you should be ok.

My 88 vert did that this morning, it likes to do that after it has sit for a few days, and it smelt like gas big time, Id say it was a little flooding from a leaky injector, but you havent got injectors You could do a test on the coolant to see if there is exhaust gas present in it.. But id just drive it, and enjoy it..
