Or rev it up good and dump the clutch.

Both wheels spin = Limited Slip.
Only 1 wheel spins = no Limited Slip

Felix is also quite correct, but this way is more fun!

felix.
mine currently has both. just woundering if it would be easy to through those disks on the back of the new one, rather than swaping the entire rear end..

this whole swaping body thing is a new experience for me.. so i have to keep it simple

Better inspect everything first.

You're swapping bodies because you had a collision, and your main problem is that the rear axle is shifted. This leads me to believe that the rear axle was struck pretty hard. Maybe damaged. Do you really want to put your car, you, your passangers, and/or others on the road up to the chance that those components are safe? Rear suspension, axle, brakes, anything in the vicinity of the collision could be suspect.

This is why I don't just go ahead and prep my 7 for a daily driver again. I don't have the cash to put new bushings, shocks, wheel bearings, front tires, and a steering gear on it. Those are teh parts that I know are damaged in some way, what about the parts that are damaged that I can't see?

I'm not trying to freak you out or anyhting, but I am trying to look out for ya. You may wanna at least take time to look closely at things you're thinking of bringing over from the wrecked 7... Compare them with known good items. Any extra bends, something out of round, etc.

Car crashes are different each time, but one thing remains teh same. All the energy from the momentum of the cars goes somewhere really quickly, resulting in bending, stretching, and/or breaking something. Do you know where it went?

Would imagine you don't have both, you can wear out / break a Limited Slip rear end.

Have you found a donor body? What did the body shop come up with?

By the way listen to what Pele is saying he is very wise!

thanks pele. i appreciate the concern and advice. i am concerned about the limit slip, but i didnot even think that the breaks could be bad..

p.o.s. i think i found a new body. should know by tomorrow, and have them both in posetion by wednesday, hopefully.. i am hoping that the body, and everything with it, is in good enough shape so that i donot have to swap anything but the drive line. i just hope that i can get my car back into action soon.

i have not been able to get it to a body shop yet, due to lack of trailer.. i will call again tomorrow and talk to some guys and see if i can get a ball park by describing it to them..
