Where to put the exhaust Temp Sensor

I am thinking about getting Exhaust temp gauge but where would be the best place to put the sensor? Or do i hook it up to the stock location?
IF so where is the stock sensor?

You should put the sender at about an 1"-1.5" from the header flang. This allows the sender to read the exhaust temp more accuratly. Further away the exhause is begining to cool already. Closer and it's wraped up in the turbulance of the header flang.
