What's the limit on height for a prospective RX7 owner?

I want to buy a first gen RX7 - Gotta love the styling - but with my height I'm limited to very few cars. There's only 1 for sale here (1985 100k miles supposedly mint) and it's far enough away I don't want to drive for an hour just to find out I don't come close to fitting... Also, how reliable can I expect this car to be? Thanks.

I'm 6'... no problem. My friend is 6'3" and finds his RX-7 much more spacious than his Nissan 240. As long as you angle the seat bottom, you will fit. They aren't huge though, and this is about the height limit IMO. Also a glass sunroof adds some headroom...

I'm 6'7. I have no problem with my 'Vette... And according to specs, the Rx7 has an official inch or two extra legroom, and half inch extra headroom. Although this has been true with a few cars I don't fit in. I'm checking out my friends 86 RX7, do they have about the same room?

The interiors are fairly different in the second gens. Leg room shouldn't be the issue... headroom may be limited... although I can't think that the Vette is much taller inside. Not sure though. You could always drive around with the sunroof off!

If all else fails, i suppose I could take the seat track out and mount it directly to the floor for an extra inch or two? I hope I can manage, I really like the cars.

I'm 6'5" and have a first gen. It's a tight fit, but manageble. I certainly wouldn't want to be taller. I like to sprawl too though... It's better with the roof off. I'm not sure how it would be on a long drive (more than an hour), but then again, the seat is shot too. I'm seriously thinking about taking the seat off and remounting it back another couple of inches

I'm 6'4" and fit perfectly. Sure, my hair rubs a little with the steel top, but it's perfect with the glass roof. As long as you aren't to wide, it's pretty big inside. It always amazes me (and others) that I fit just fine in the 7, yet WTF is up with the Miata?

I'm 6'-3" and fit perfect. My hair rubs the headliner but I like the feel of my car. It is definatly harder to get into than say a minivan but once you're in it is very comfortable and surprisingly spacious I've been on some long rides with little or no discomfort. So you shouldn't have any prob.

I have a friend with an 85 gls-se and he is 6'4'' and he seems to fit OK. He has kinda a hard time driving just because of his position in the car. he used to drive with the seat all the way slid back and like back down too and could barely see the road but then we tought him how to get up on the wheel a little better and now he does better.

A slight difference of opinion here, I am 6'3" and I fibd there is only adequate leg room which leads to discomfort after about 3 hours without room to move. Head height is no problem. My son is also 6'3" and has no problem with leg room but has height problems. In simple terms, we come in different proportions and for 6'2" and upwards you have to try it
