My best was 15.02 @ 98mph at Island Dragway.
I ran on 16" street tires with an open rear. I might have been able run a little faster if I had better tires because they were spinning into 3rd gear. After I swap in my limited slip GSL-SE rear I hope to improve these times.
Specs:
1983 Street Port 12A
No emissions controls
Holley 4 barrel carb
Holley Fuel Pump
Racing Beat intake manifold
Racing Beat Street Port Exhaust
Racing Beat Header
Electric Fan
Racing Beat Dual Belt Pulleys
Petronix Coils

I ran a 14.7@93, but that was with my 4400# 94 Impala SS. That was the only time I've ever been to a strip (to drive anyway). Haven't had the 7 down the 1320', yet.
On that note, does anyone know what a stock 84 GSL-SE with ~85K miles should run in the quarter? I'm not looking for what a magazine ran 18 years ago; that I can look up. Does anyone out there still have a stock car they've taken to the strip within the last few years?

You can tell by the rad (unless they changed it) its not on an angle like the second gens...and the mechanisms for the flip-up lights, they are visible. form there, the lines of the car are remeniscent of a 1st gen...
And, ive seen this engine bay before...with 3 other pics of the rest of the car.

I believe the 2nd Gen Shock-tower covers are throwing you off.
Look, it even has the holes for the 1st gen ignition coils on the side.

you don't pay much attention there, huh? i've never seen a 2nd gen with the holes in the fender for the coils. or the hole for the prop rod for the front lifting hood. the washer bottle for my 10th ae was in the front near the headlight. the radiator is upright with the metal air duct in front of it.......

Gee, I guess I didn't think that while someone might do a complete engine swap they'd never, ever change the angle of a radiator. Thanks for setting me straight so diplomatically, Spoolin
