What year 13b N/A would be easiest to swap to a 83' rx7 S

I have a 1983 rx7 type S. I have about 141K on the orginal 12a and was thinking about swapping to a 13b. I was thinking about swapping one out of a 85 gsl se but I was wondering what would be needed. i plan on trying to get the motor from Atkins Rotary because they are local, but I was wondering what other parts would be needed to do the swap. Thanks.

84-85 GSLSE 13b would be the easiest.

What he said, or go with the s5 na motor putting out around 180 horses stock. Its the most powerfull na rotary next to the renesis.

Actually its 160 stock twinkletoes. The S5 NA is the hardest swap, the easiest being an early 4 port 13B.

Most any 13B, once you change the front cover and put a carb on it. Then all you need to do is upgrade the fuel pump and the exhaust. That's the simplest.

I just did the S5 swap into my SE. Yesterday it ran today it doesnt. So its never really as simple as it sounds. Trochoid is right though most 13bs are the same once you swap front cover and oil pan. But the easiest is 84-85 SE 13b Itll drop straight in. About 20 or so more horses than the 12a too

34 more for the SE, 45 for the S4 and 59 for the S5, all NA. Fun part is, carbing an FI 13B can yield more hp with the right setup and a spot on tune.
