What Struts Shocks (OEM)
I am looking at buying a '79.
It needs both Front struts and rear shocks.
From what I have found, the rears are easy to find and priced reasonably.
However, I am having trouble finding front struts.
Can anyone suggest a brand/model for the front, please include part # if you can.
Oh and they need to be OEM replacement.

If you are looking to replace the bad ones with “good enough” ones I hear the KYB’s are decent. These are probably the cheapest brand I would go with. The other Store and OEM replacement brands don’t seem to be up to snuff.
If you are looking for the best bang for the buck upgrade I cannot recommend the Tokico Blues enough, they are good enough for some racers at a budget price, and are great street upgrades.
If you have some more dough to spend the Tokico Illuminas are adjustable and many Autocrossers use them.
My buddy cannot stop raving about Shox.com and I have checked out their prices and they are good.
They should carry all three of the shocks/struts.

P.S. maybe think about springs while you are at it. They have to come of to replace the strut cartridges anyway. And for around 200 bucks you could really improve on those 22 year old stock ones.

Last I heard, Illuminas werent available for 79-80 RX-7s. You'd have to find a donnor 81-85 to swap the lower and upper strut mounts out of. Whatever strut you pick (I'd go for Tokico hp), remember to specify that's its for a 79-80... the 81-85's wont fit properly.
