I used the Racing beat springs, they seem like a good mix of performance and lower the car about 1", you probally do not want the car any lower then that...

Well the old springs sag, so they are actually lower then you would think. But I think the RB springs gave my car a more aggressive stance. But like I said a 1" drop is a fair amount for the street, any more and your exhaust scrapes against everything (even with a 1" drop you may have that problem)

If you just want to lower the car than shorten the springs.
If you want to improve the performance of the car then you need to outline your handling objectives and alter your suspension to meet those goals.
So, what do you want to do?

FWIW, most *stock* 1st-gens at this point are sitting on the bumpstops in the front, and are in a really bad place geometry-wise in the back, so going lower isn't very advisable, at least without certain upgrades, unless you just want your car to look like it's got two 500 pound hogs in it dragging on the ground and don't mind that it's scary to drive at any speed.

Not that I'm biased or anything. I've done the lowered thing and after a while realized that: It made handling worse, and driving fast is more important to me.

Well, I guess that *does* make me biased.

Most lowering springs will raise your car up compared to where it sits now. This is not a bad thing.

(KNC, just to clarify: I'm merely adding on to the points you make. Gotta define the goals, *then* make a choice)

My racing beat springs raised it almost an inch, it handles so much better now and it looks better too than the sagging springs
